Boiler Parts guarantee?? Help!

Hi All,

Can anyone help... Do boiler parts have a 12 Month guarantee? As I bought a fan assembly kit for an ideal boiler last August (2010)...Hence this has just given up the will to live.

I am 99.9% confident it is this part due to the noise & heat of the motor, when it failed back in August-The previous fan was in since brand new, hence nearly 4 years when the house was bought brand new.

I bought it from a reputable place it has 2 webites and an office, and and just managed to find the receipt!

Would this be covered ? Hence I am going to call them to ask first thing in the morning. I can't see any mention on their two websites about it.

Thank you so much for your help and advice!!!

Sandy Beech (aka Simon)

All major parts I supply have a 12 month warranty.

It would depend on the terms that your supplier gave when you bought it.

Don't expect any help from Ideal though. Even when they come out to fix a boiler they only give a 30 day warranty.

Sure, thank you for your reply! Would they perhaps send this back to their supplier to be checked perhaps...or take my word? As I would have no heating for the duration..........

I am always given a replacement part at the time, then a credit for the faulty one.

Whether they would charge you for the new part, then credit once the faulty one is received, I do not know, but I would have thought that would be the usual way of doing it.

Whether they send the old bit off for testing before they credit you, I wouldn't know, but from my experience this only happens with major parts such as main heat exchangers.
  • Why don't you ask them directly about your concerns and clear everythings out?
