How did you return your stuff? In store or post? Thanks

I didn't :D I never contacted Thorntons themselves, just did a paypal dispute. They never corresponded via paypal, just refunded me. It was a present for my friend who loves chocolate, not toffee and chilli chocolate, so I would have sent them back as I told her not to eat/open any. As soon as I got the refund though I told her she could do what she wanted with them and think the kids have eaten some, but the chilli chocs are still left.:(
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

  • I'mwaiting for mine but I paid £15 so if I get all that rubbish I won't be wanting it!
I paid £13.50 as used the 10% code and taking into account the postage if I was in a shop and they offered me what I got for almost £20 I wouldn't have bought it, so even though it is cheaper than if you bought the individual bits, I would never have chosen to buy what they sent me. So its definately going back one way or another.
  • Do they say how to return ?
    travelover

They told me to post back and they would refund my postage or to take into store, i'm just unsure as there was no delivery note etc in my parcel. I have to go to town tomorrow so will lug my parcel in and see what they say.

No they do not send delivery notes anyway, you will need to take a copy of your online invoice with you.

Under Distance Selling Regulations, you do NOT have to go to all this trouble! They have not sent you what you ordered therefore they are under obligation to pick up from you, not for you to trot to the PO or to store - they are also required to give you a full refund immediately including postage. Ring them back and tell them that as they haven't sent you what you order you want the whole lot picked up.

I had this aggro with the Winter Wonderland thing - got two boxes full of toffee and other junk. I rang them, quoted DSR's and they gave me an immediate refund and said they would pick up. I never actually heard from them again and it's been over a month now. (The chilli chocolate was actually yummy!!! ;) )

    I agree with you.

But surely what was ordered in this case was a 'surprise package' so poster cannot say they did not get what they ordered.

i thought the DSR allowed customers to send an item back with no quibbles/questions being asked - within 7 days...right??
