Just got mine and i'm very dissapointed, not only that I paid for next day delivery and it took them a week to get it to me (rang to complain and all they would do was appologise and say its just because they have been so busy!!), but i got lots of little rubbishy bits which were not in the original description. I have just checked and they have changed the description of what you may get.
I Got;
2 x white chocolate snowmen
1 x chocolate christmas tree
2 x small boxes milk chocolates
1 x large milk chocolate block
1 x mint selection
2 x kids mini sweet packet selections (buttons, fudge etc)
Its a good job I have kids, was planning to use what I got as extra pressies for adults birthdays coming up and our whole family hate white chocolate.
Don't know whether to lets the kids at it or send it back!0 -

I would not accept that.
Ask to speak to a manager, the least you should get is your delivery charge refunded. They are usually very good at compensation, I had some delivered as a present but the message was missing so I did not know who had sent it. I had to ring around the family to ask.
The sender complained and at first got nowhere so asked to speak to the manager who offered a refund of the delivery charge but the sender asked for some more chocolates to be sent to me and they did.0 -
Dunno if this will help anyone, but at Tesco at Gatwick they had two huge shelves left of the ENORMOUS boxes of Thorntons chocs for £5!! -Might be worth seeing if your local has any left/
Sorry, I can't remember which ones they were as I was banned from buying anymore chocs after my splurge in the Hotel Chocolt sale

I was one of the lucky ones who got the original winterwonderland hamper for £30(and next day delivery for £2),(we still have 3 full boxes of chocolates left),everything was enjoyed except the white chocolate snowman..I do like white chocolate,but this had a very odd taste,didnt like it at all.even my youngest(who loves all things chocolate)didnt eat it....in fact it was left lying open under the tree for days and our dog didnt even attempt to eat it:rotfl:redwhiskygirl wrote: »Just got mine and i'm very dissapointed, not only that I paid for next day delivery and it took them a week to get it to me (rang to complain and all they would do was appologise and say its just because they have been so busy!!), but i got lots of little rubbishy bits which were not in the original description. I would recommend paying Thorntons by paypal then if you have any probs it's easier to dispute/sort out. I was ordered the winter wonderland hamper, then was told would get 2 x chocoholic hampers instead, but ended up with chilli chocs and loads of toffee. I did a paypal dispute as "not what I ordered" and got a full refund no problem.
Thorntons in my opinion have really messed up over christmas/jan and I will not be ordering online from them again as it seems to be the luck of the draw whether you get what you order. I think they have been taking lessons from M&S online:eek:Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

I've decided to return it and customer services said to take it to a store or send it back, only thing i realised once i came off the phone is there was no delivery/order notes in the box, no paperwork at all, is this normal? Will I need some order info to return it or just print off my order confirmation/despatch note? I am rubbish at complaining I only think of what to say once I come off the phone. I was told to tell them in the shop my complaint about the delivery time and they would deal with it? This now sounds a bit wrong. Ive been somewhat fobbed off i think.:(redwhiskygirl wrote: »Just got mine and i'm very dissapointed, not only that I paid for next day delivery and it took them a week to get it to me (rang to complain and all they would do was appologise and say its just because they have been so busy!!), but i got lots of little rubbishy bits which were not in the original description. I find it astonishing that Thorntons are still doing these bait and switch techniques after the number of customers they upset in the winter wonderland fiasco. I certainly won't be ordering from them again.0
