    If you are paranoid (needlessly I might add), search on youtube. There are dozens of videos showing how to break the chip so it won't read anymore.

    It's all the more reason to check your statements, thoroughly and regularly.

    there are plenty of contactless points in london, I personally do not want one either, I can definately see the day where I lean my purse or pocket on the station when Im paying in cash and pay twice

    I think its less secure even than cash.If I had a couple of pounds in my pocket I would know it was there due to the weight. Wheras a card doesnt have that, does it.
    :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
    Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
    So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:

    I dont need the point in them, it takes less than 20 seconds in most instances to use Chip and Pin.

    Inventing solutions for a problem that didn't exist IMO

    I like the idea that onus now shifts to the banks to prove it wasn't fraud.

    First chip and pin, then card readers, now we have near field communications, it will be interesting to see what they come up with for these.

    Will probably be fingerprints or some other form of biometrics. Will probably come first with chip and fingerprint in place of the PIN - I believe they are already looking into this. Then they will do away with the card altogether, you will just place your finger on the reader, it will contact the banks database (would have to be one centralised for all the banks) and come back with a list of your accounts for you to choose from.

    i hope they don't give me one as I really don't want one. Imagine if someones paying for something and your walking by, you could end up paying for their shopping. How far away can it pick up a card? I wish they would just leave it as chip and pin, at least it is secure!
    :T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one :) :beer::beer::beer:

    Indeed. All the effort going into implementing this could instead have gone into implementing better terminal designs for C&P to maximise the speed of transactions. Although with the better terminals it's already as fast as cash.

    That can't happen.

    I've seen plenty of people use their Oyster cards without taking them out of their wallet. Why would this be different?
