Do an exchange search on Samknows website, and report back with the LLU operators available to you as these will normally be the cheapest, or let us know which exchange you are on.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Go to https://www.Samknows.com and find out what your exchange is - with this you can see what ISPs are activated at your local exchange and are options to use.
Then go and check what speeds your line can handle at the BT Wholesale pages; http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl
If you can then post your Telephone Exchange code and the gumf from the speed checker then I'm sure people can advise better.
Are you looking to change just your broadband or landline as well? Do you mind going with seperate companies or do you want just 1 bill and 1 company to deal with?0 -
thanks for your reply info as requested -
from sam knows -- BT Wholesale ADSL
- BT Wholesale ADSL Max
- BT Wholesale WBC (21CN)
- AOL LLU
- TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
- Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
- Tiscali LLU
- Tiscali TV (via Tiscali LLU)
- Orange LLU (Formerly Wanadoo)
Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 2Mbps.Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 8Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 7Mbps and 8Mbps.
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 17Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 10Mbps and 19.5Mbps. Our test also indicates that your line could support an estimated ADSL 2+ Annex-M broadband upstream line speed of 1.5Mbps and downstream line speed of 12Mbps; typically the downstream speed would range between 11Mbps and 13Mbps.
it all means absolutely nothing to menot bothered about keeping phone and internet package , just thought they were cheaper.

If you have Sky TV then they would be the best bet.
They have a three month free offer on unlimited broadband at the moment.
If you don't have Sky TV they may still be worth looking at but they would charge you £2.50 over the Sky subscribers rate.

A thought, if you have Sky +HD, having Sky Broadband enables you to access their new Video on demand service Anytime +.

I thought Plusnet are BT now?
As with Penrhyn, I'd recommend BT as the cheaper option - though check the contract lengths to make sure you get the right deal for the right length etc.
Edit: err.... I meant sky... How the hell did I type BT??0 -

If you don't currently have Sky +, then they would have to come out and upgrade your dish to provide two feeds that is needed by the box so you can watch one channel whilst recording another. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
