Hen Do Ideas Please!

Hi all,
hope you can help!
My best friend is getting married in July and I need to organise a hen do. None of us like things like strippers or being overly 'rowdy' but we do like to drink and dance to cheesy music or rock music (what a combination!!)
I don't think she'd enjoy something where she is centre of attention, and I don't think she would want to ask people to spend a lot of money. Something unusual would be good!!
I thought about afternoon tea in Harrogate and go to the spa there, and then a night out in Leeds (I live in Leeds) but not sure yet. Also thought about a medieval banquet type thing but will have to investigate further!!
Any ideas, tips or good hen night stories would be appreciated!!
Thanks!!
xx

I went to a couple of great hen weekends a few years ago. For one we went to a vineyard and got shown around plus a wine tasting session. The other we had a behind the scenes tour of Chatsworth House which is done by a 'normal' staff member rather than tour guide and we got shown the basements, attics, up on the roof etc. At both we then stayed in in the evening with a meal, some games, lots of drink etc. We were a group of friends who lived a long way apart too so we all bedded down in sleeping bags and it was like a sleepover:p0

What about one of those 'make your own pop video' experience things? I think there's one of those in Leeds. They're not cheap I think it's about 65 per head but that includes a make-up artist and choreographer.
This is them: http://www.go-experience.com/pop-video/pop-video-hensMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

have you signed up to your local groupon? they have good offers which might be of interest to you and you can purchase for future use although there is a limited date to some of them, in glasgow grouponk, recently there was a recording experience, spa day and tea at high tea rooms, so am sure you would find something at a fraction of the cost you ladies would like to do and save money too.0

My wife had a pony trekking trip, then she went to go ape for another recently.0

Fibbers in York has a good club night on Fridays that plays a decent mix of music - there's cheese but also a good bit of indie and various other things. I think their Saturday night is more rocky so may be worth a try.
Other ideas:
- Going to the races (you can get fairly cheap tickets outside of the big festivals)
- Spa day/at home spa (everyone comes round to yours or the bride's house and you do face masks and paint your nails etc, possibly accompanied by cake and girly movies)
- Afternoon tea
- Cocktail making (Revolution do it - think it costs about £25 each)"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
I got married last July and my bridesmaid organised a night at the Birdcage. It was great because we weren't bombarded by men and we just enjoy ourselves, dancing to cheesy music!
Another friend of mine, put on a ladies dinner at the brides house and they had a TRULY girly sleepover which seemed cool to me!
Good luck!0 -
The Spa in Harrogate is lovely - fairly reasonable too but anyone more flush can pay for extra treatments too if they want to. How about afternoon tea at Bettys too? I'm too old to recommend good Leeds nights out these days though!
H had a spa then home for cocktails and a sleepover for my hen do. We went to Titanic Spa in Huddersfield which is a bit pricer than the Harrogate one but was fab.People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I'm having the girls night in/pamper idea - quite a few of my girls couldn't afford to attend the wedding and go to a hen do.
So, at home it is with afternoon tea - everyone will be bringing cake, scones, sandwiches etc. I've got a mobile beatician coming at 6pm to give combinations of mini manicures, mini pedicures, head massages or mini facials (£10 for 1 or £17.50 for 2).
A kitty for dinner - takeway and then movies. Everyone brings a bottle (or two!) and the costs are limited and we all have a good time :j
In doing this, I have realised I really am a complete control freak and didn't want to miss out on organising any part of my wedding
poor little sis was slow on getting arranged to I took over
