Sorry, wasn't sure how to title this thread.
Just a moan really about the amount of what I would call bogus posting lately. You know the sort, a series of people (usually long term users with hundreds, if not thousands of posts to their name) add to a thread berating a company or product. Then, surprise, surprise, someone becomes a memeber of the forum and posts their first comment to praise the said company or product and how wonderful it is, or how amazing the service was they recieved.
Do they think we are all thick? As well as the pretty obvious giveaway that they appear to have joined the forum with the express purpose of praising the berated company and product, then disappear never to post again, the language they use is also a giveaway. It's usually especially well crafted and carefully written with a sprinkling of 'management speak'.
What they don't realise is that they do more harm than good. I'm sure I'm not alone when this sort of thing immediately puts me off a product or company.

Yes, they are very, very sad and lonely people.0

I was so tempted to register a new username and criticise your post OP. :rotfl:0

You're definitely not alone, the moment I see a first poster praising the company I always think it has to be a representative. It's a shame that even despite this site existing companies still think consumers are mugs!0

Happens all the time.
Sometimes new members are spectacularly thick and register with their own name. Then when you do a who.is check the domain owner is the same person as the new member.
There have been some classics though: Gary Cooper & GCsPCs and that girly party lady who didn't turn up for booked parties. The girly party lady was the classic one because she forgot to change her alter ego login and immediately gave herself away. Of course someone on here quoted her reply so when she deleted the post the evidence was preserved. The man without a signature.0 -
just check out the number of posts they have had compared to when they joined, there are a few trolls on here and one in particular racked up an average of 45 posts a day every day for two years(including weekends and bank holidays), when i pointed this out to them they opened another account, used the same avatar and began again, after two months they had also averaged about 50 posts a day every day yet again! the world has many many sad people in it, and this forum is like flies to a cow pat where they are concerned, its a shame as there is some really helpfull people and info on here that gets buried amongst all the cow pats0

Sadly, they do think we're that stupid. How insulting is that? It's one thing to see a rant on a website, fair enough, but another entirely to see it followed up by a load of newcomer rebuttal posts. If I see a rant, I think 'wow, someone had a bad experience', if I see a wall of newbie rebuttals I immediately think '...wow, and that's why - they were dealing with arrogant and dishonest bullies'0

I think it works the other way as well - someone new posts about a bad experience and how rubbish a company is - and serveral "new" users also chip in. Very suspect.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
That is a bit annoying, but the one that really gets me is the new people who search for every thread about X company, and post "I agree, I have had nothing but trouble with X when I...." and recount the story on every thread. Or add "I agree, see my thread about X"Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -

What's wrong with making sure as many users a spossible know about how bad a company is?? For example take a look at the posts on MSE wrt Pixmania...as far as i'm concerned the more that know the better.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Particularly when the thread is six years old... then people start reading the thread from the beginning and posting advice to the OP that comes far too late0
