Built under Double ovens

Hi again I'm not an expert, but have recently been through the same process..
From my experience you cannot install a built in oven under a worktop. They are physically larger. You can either get a single built under oven which most now run from a 13 Amp supply, this would fit in a housing unit. Double built under ovens I think don't fit in a housing, they have legs of their own which stand on the floor. Basically you are sacrificing oven sizes for the second oven / grill. These typically require > 13 Amp. You don't mention if your hob is electric or gas... Most ceramic hobs these days need a larger supply also, ie > 13 Amp. If you have both a double oven and a cermaic electric hob then you may need two supplies from the consumer unit / board. Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow.0 -
Built under double ovens fit fine under worktops and fit in units no problem as we have done it a couple of months back, it did have a single oven in before we just had to remove the small plinth underneath and take the shelf out it was resting on and replace it with rails that came with the double oven.
The single oven ran off a plug that was behind the oven, luckily our neighbour is an electrician and he had to wire in the new oven using thicker cable and change the socket but the wiring already in the wall was the correct type and was on its own circuit with a one of those big red switches above the worktop.
The one we bought was a Belling from Currys for £300 with vouchers , they do a package with ceramic hob for £100 more item no 968545 & 722042 https://www.currys.co.uk0 -
WE have just bought the neff oven you mentioned, we used our tesco vouchers and bought it from MFI the oven is excellent and looks great well worth every penny!0

if you have an electric hob and a double oven on the same circuit things may not be tickety boo- there may be a potential overload situation.
If you have a gas hob (with only an electric ignition) then it may be a straight forward install.
Better to get someone in to check it out (I would say thatwouldn't I)
baldly going on...0 -
we got this bosch double under oven http://www.boschappliances.co.uk/products-detail-ovens.aspx?id=23
just bear in mind the dimensions of the oven you choose - ours would NOT fit a standard 720mm high base unit/oven housing without modifying the unit0 -

Anyway, Mc4andy, you'll need a hand with it so I'm offering to go 50 - 50 with you. But first I want to watch it being wired into the sockets.....:rotfl:A house isn't a home without a cat.

I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

How do some of the double ovens fit under? I have been looking at teses and some of them are 875mm tall. Our cupboard doors are 715mm so I guess we might be able to get a 720mm to fit but most seem to be taller than this. Are worktops higher as standard now?
Thanks

You need to look for a "built under" double oven0 -
These are built under oven I'm looking at. Most are over 800mm. There are a couple that are 720mm.
Thanks

Sorry misunderstood , you need to measure it from the floor to the height of under the worktop, we had to take the bottom out of the unit in ours and put rails in to rest it on, some have feet instead0
