As i am on CSA1, I will be alot better of on CSA3, from what i have read on various different govement papers about the child maintenance reforms they propose to deduct 12% of my gross wage then a charge on top of that, Even with the 12% and the charge i will still be about £160 amonth better off than i am being stuck on CSA1, So hopefully with the welfare reform bill going to the 3rd reading in the house of lords on 31st January then the CSA will have the green light to go ahead with CSA3!! , but i doubt this as it is the CSA we are talking about, The M.P's have done there bit now it is down to the CSA to do there's !!! LOL

Well looks like thats been overturned in the Lords......for now!!0

good result today lets hope it stays that wayWhat goes around-comes around0

I am not that too concerned about charging all i want is to move off CSA1 onto a fairer scheme like CSA3, even with the charging i will be better off.0

The House of Lords seem to be backing a senior Tory alternative, which is where the person unwilling to come to an agreement is the one who pays - I would guess this will be the NRP in most cases.0
-
Sounds dangerous. How do you determine in a stalemate scenario where a PWC wants to receive £500 and an NRP wants to pay £100, which one is unwilling to come to an agreement?0
-
based on calculations of what is maintenance i should thinkWhat goes around-comes around0
-
Then surely it is a not a family based agreement but a CSA assessment, which means using the CSA and having to pay for the privilege.0

Everybody seems to be forgetting the most important things when it comes to this whole attitude of CHARGING....!!!
I understand that charges may have to be implemented, and the cost given at 43p per £1 may well be right when averaged over the cost of the CSA....!
BUT for an incompetent agency that is not answerable to anybody, how to they propose to deal with complaints in the service should they arise regarding costing...? If they where efficient to start with that cost would be down to maybe 10p in the £1.... But they constantly make mistakes, have to go over every case at least 20 times and even then they end up paying compensation etc...!!!
Charging is NOT the answer, but charging for difficult cases where one "avoids" payment is certainly something that should be done...!
If someone who makes an application has maybe an hours work done for the case to be opened, and then the NRP responds immediately, with the correct information and pays by direct debit on a regular basis with no problems, then by that account the only charge that should be instigated should be the initial time... At the most this would equate to about £80 and then the charge for administering the collection of payments, which should maybe be in line with other payment structures the government say are correct, you only have to look at what they are trying to do to companies like ryanair to see they class these as unfair, yet they are going to implement worse into there own system...!
It stinks of corruption and of passing on the costs for case they have failed to serve correctly onto the paying parents who accept there responsibility...!!!0 -
this is ridiculous if this goes ahead
my sister only went to the csa because her stupid ex wasnt paying on time and not enough money she had enough and applied through them
why should she pay any charges or fees because her ex doesnt want to pay the correct amount and not set up regular payments to her?
She doesn't have to use the CSA, it is her choice. Why should her personal finances have anything to do with the rest of us. Why should other people pay to finance the CSA? The CSA costs half a billion pounds a year to run and is a complete waste of public funds. The government is a trillion pounds in debt and can't afford to go on spending money on squabling parents. The sooner we get rid of the nanny state and abolish the CSA the better.0
