TalkTalk has anyone .........

Got a good word for them ?, I wish I had searched prior to .. Yes .. signing up with them !!!

The openning question is to mainly find out if anyone has managed to leave them within the 30day period, as I have been with them for 12 days now and in the absence of being able to use my Outlook Express client account I have had to set up a web based account with no fixed date of when the Outlook access will be possible, nor can I use their webmail not that I want to and I am unable to enrol on their forum.

With the phone regularly glued to my ear talking to customer services I have had 3 promises of "The engineers are working on it please give them 48/72 hours", I am of the opinion that the sooner I can get away from them the better.

So has anyone had a pain free severance within the 30 day period.

Major P.

    Hi majorp,

We don't block or restrict access to clients, I can only guess that you have a fault with your email account.

Can you email me your details "name, address, phone/account number, email address in question" to ttmfcontactus@talktalkgroup.com

    Regards

Have to say, TalkTalk have been fantastic for my parents. They signed up in July 2006 and got connected to the broadband in August.

They've only had a couple of problems with crackling on the line which were resolved within a couple of days. The broadband has been fine, very quick from day 1 with no slow down (though obviously they aren't heavy downloaders).

I've never understood why people use email from their ISP - if you leave them you've lost your email address.

I've had the same address for nearly 14 years with Yahoo, and changed ISP loads of times.

I had quite a shock today when I looked at my Talk Talk bill. I've had a series of emails telling me that Tiscali is now renaming itself Talk Talk, which I already knew, then an email telling me that my broadband speed might be going up as they have done something or other at the exchange.

At no time was I made aware that today's bill would be 42.5% more than my regular monthly bills, for the same usage. It looks like they are now charging part of the bill in advance (?) and the line rental has gone up. I've emailed in the hope of getting an explanation re the increase in price but if this is their 'new clearer bill' as the blurb on their web page says, it's pathetic. I can't compare like for like with the old bill, they don't tally at all. I'm very happy with their service, when it's working, which I have to say is almost all the time. But given the economic climate I could do without bombshells like this.
  • today i have been able to look at my bill, yes i got all the same e-mails and yes looking at the detail they are now not charging for broadband but for the landline, a sttle change not sure what it means yet and yes they are charging in advance

i had a package for broadband unlimited call and line rental for £19 now escalating spoke to manila today apparently i dont speak the correct language

several issues including speed, they have given me a free upgrade to max of 20mb i'm geting less one at the moment:eek:
  • Just posted my views on TalkTalk on different thread so won't repeat here but will add that I was unable to access my Outlook express email for over 3 weeks and had no useful help from customer service whatsoever. I was originally with Tiscali and had no problems with them at all but as soon as TaltTalk took over everything went down hill fast The level of "service" I have been provided with has been truely awful and they are hiking up the costs without any notice so I suggest every TalkTalk customer out there has a good look at their bills to see just how much money they are paying.

I have just been shocked to see my bill has gone up from mid twenties to £40! I've been all around the site looking for an explanation and there is none. The bill is far less easy to read than the old bill - and I notice they are charging £1.99 for 'continous card payment'. Nowhere can I see this charge laid out for the cutomer to see, and it wasn't there before. Not happy.

Apparently they are now billing some things in advance and the bill won't be as big next time, they say. However the woman who emailed me was unable to access my bill as the billing part of the site is down for some kind of upgrade. She hopes to be able to access it by the 24th if I'm still concerned. Someone on another thread on here has had their bill go up to £90+ from their normal 35-60 so there's something very odd going on and it's not at all transparent exactly what we are paying for.

I've been with T.T for a couple of years and I renewed!:)
I've had a few problems but have used their forum facility,I hate the long queues on the phone and the call centres who are speaking with strong accents.I'd struggle with a strong irish or scots accent just can't understand so the written word is best for me :)
I have a neighbour who is with BT and was paying £10 monthly MORE than me for the same type of package ,he now pays (negotiated renewal) the same as me and as far as I can see doesn't get a better service.

Hubby also noticed last night that our bill was bigger than it was supposed to be but figured out it's because they have changed billing dates so are taking a half month and a month in advance.....or something like that...lol

The biggest problem for us though is the fact that we shouldn't have a download limit but our bill showed we have a 40GB limit now in place! Hubby is not happy so has emailed them, I'll post the reply when/if we get one.

Surely they have always surcharged for any payment method other than direct debit? You'd be advised to switch to DD straight away, as recurring debit card authorities are a potential nightmare as only the recipient can cancel them-not the card holder. With a DD, you are in control and you have the DD guarantee from the bank if an error is made.
