So, I sold a travelodge room that went for £40 through ebay. It was brought on the day when the room was for and the buyer wrote to me to tell me he made a mistake in bidding as he got the dates muddled. I ended up not selling the item and didn't have time to relist. I submitted a non-payment claim as I didn't want to get charged for the final sellers fee. He has paid me but I don't have anything to send him, the date has past and now I feel guilty. What should I do?

Stop feeling guilty, you haven't done anything wrong, but you have done everything right, that is what is called business.0

If you cancel the transaction they will get the money back and you will get your fees back. Up to you if you do it.0

could they not file a claim for INR, and get a full refund because you can't prove that you send them the item?0

Were u selling a room through the travel lodge company?0

I brought it and couldn't make it, so I sold it on. It was a travel lodge room that I had brought, but no not through the company (not sure if I understood the question)0

Might be different terms over here, but when I booked a room last week, they were pretty adamant that resale wouldn't be allowed, though you could cancel up to 12pm on day of booking. Was a £39 room too.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

Did you sell it or not?

He paid? You refunded? It is a confusing post.0 -

Seller/buyer protection does not apply to intangible goods, ie tickets, holidays etc, I would class this (in the basic of terms) as a holiday. But certainly intangible.0 -

Let's retry. The room was sold for £40. The buyer never paid as he got confused by the dates. There was no time to relist it so the room went to waste. A month after, having submitted a no payment claim, he finally paid. As the event has past, I have nothing to send. I feel bad since he made a mistake in the first place and ended up £40 out of pocket for it.
Thanks for your advice everyone.0 -
his fault not yours.....if you feel guilty give the cash to charity....or refund a stupid buyer that way you encourage him to be a plank again.0
