Help moving to Giffgaff
Hi,
Please be gentle with me and I apologise if the answer is out there buried but:
I have an iphone 4 on contract with 02 and want to move to Giffgaff. I have just spoken to O2 Customer Service who said I didn't need to give them 30 days notice to cancel since I was moving to GiffGaff - is this true?
Also how do I go about getting an iphone Giffgaff Sim? Giffgaff website seems to only discuss normal sized sims.....
Okay once I have the giffgaff sim what do I do then.....how do I get my o2 mobile number transferred.....if o2 hasn't given me a PAC code???
Sorry for the questions but I am confused....and because I rely on my phone a lot I don't want to do something out of 'sequence' which means I loose connectivity.
Can someone advise a technophob?
Thanks in advance.
k

I'd have thought you'd have to give 30 days notice? Unless it's something with O2?
If GG don't do micro sims the onlt other option would be to cut down a standard sim, there are guides on the net.
You can't transfer a number without a pac code. There is no other way of doing it (that's what/all they're for). Just ask O2 for the code (DONT'T tell them you want to cancel, you'll lose your number if you do and they do it)...0 -
Why would you leave O2 if your on contract with them ?
You will still have to pay the contract.GiffGaff use the O2 network anyway so no need to unlock. You will need to cut your giffgaff sim to micro sim either by hand or cutter or they do it for free on the giffgaff forum.
Handy guide here:

Yes if you plan to port your number over from O2 to GiffGaff. As soon as you give GiffGaff the PAC and then approximately 48 hours the port goes through this will automatically end your O2 contract.
Are you at the end of your contract or out of contract? Also how do I go about getting an iphone Giffgaff Sim? Giffgaff website seems to only discuss normal sized sims.....
If you post in the community asking someone to send you a micro sim you will both get £5 credit when activated.

Ask O2 for your PAC.Sorry for the questions but I am confused....and because I rely on my phone a lot I don't want to do something out of 'sequence' which means I loose connectivity.
Basically you get the sim from GiffGaff and activate it. Then provide your PAC from O2 to GiffGaff. Whilst the port is getting organised continue to use your O2 sim until it becomes inactive - then put the GiffGaff sim in and connect to iTunes.
All info on porting into GiffGaff here;

Think the OP must have at least another year to run as iphone 4 only released June 2010.0

Hi, Thanks all the replies. My contract ends this month.....so looking to move to giffgaff because it appears to be a lot cheaper than staying with 02.
I will go and look at the forum and links you have sent. Thanks again0
