Hi all, I have kind of lost it the last couple of weeks but am determined to getting the house in order again. I have just over an hour until I have to pick DS up from playschool so I am now going to go and tidy like a mad woman. Let's see how much I get done....

  • quick question - how do I upload an avatar? I have a suitably sized pic ready to go but all attempts result in the invalid file message.

I will need step by step instructions, but I'm determined to do it!

  • Morning All,

Yikes makes me glad my ex doesnt talk to me :j

Okay last week's bathroom flying made me realise that we were woefully short of storage and the old 'chrome' style bathroom cabinet stopped the door from opening AND was a cowbag to clean!
Oh, and we never used it cos it's behind the door and a git to get to.

Sooooo in a horribly no OS or even MSE moment I went down to Argoose and got 2 little draw sets and a new linen baskt :eek::eek::eek::eek: (even forgot the £20 voucher I have :eek::eek:) But this operation has meant bathroom is mostly Fabulous already :) So gonna be more of a SS than a full fly, as it's mostly done :)

    Friday ~ Bathroom and WC
    Level One

    Declutter and mop floors!
Scrub the bath/shower/basins/toilets/bidets etc.. don't forget the outside of the loo and under the scanky rim.. it gets naaaaaasty under there!!.. oh, and don't forget the top of the cistern!
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Sling shower curtain/bathmats in the wash and scrub down the slimy tiles![/STRIKE] Done as we go
Wash away and mouldy black bits and furry webs
Polish up the taps so they shine!
    Level Three
Wash light pull strings! (Painting with neat bleach works then rinse in a jug of water)
Scrub down the paintwork and radiators.. back and front!
Clear and wipe window sills and frames and make the blinds/curtains nice and clean
    Extras
    1. [STRIKE]Clean out the toiletries cupboard and put back the stuff you use.. and fling the stuff you don't! Do any necessary decanting so you have fewer almost empties![/STRIKE]
    2. [STRIKE]Replace and curly toothbrushes[/STRIKE]
    3. Polish mirrors and shelves!
    4. [STRIKE]Make a note of stuff you do need to stock up.. and stuff you already have stocked up for 10 years![/STRIKE]

Okay as I'm a lazy little lady and OH let me sleep in, I'm only just up  So I'll go shower and start with the inside of that whilst I'm doing it so I can de-limescale afterwards :)

I have to save the avatar I want to my computer in a pictures file and then go into user CP [up above] and in the edit Avatar bit I have to click on browse and find my copy of the avatar in my pictures file and click [possibly] double click on it - it then shows as a code in the box which I can then upload

That all looks a bit gobbley gook when I read it back but it makes sense to me

    Afternoon all

I've been to the back of the big cupboard under the stairs:eek: The big blue bag had old sheets in which were used as dust sheets when we were painting. I've kept the proper dust sheet but the rest are going for recycling. Should we need more I've still got plenty of sheets in the airing cupboard. I've also got rid of other various bits of stuff and put tools etc away where they should be so instead of half a dozen carrier bags they are in the proper places. My bin is very full now and doesn't get emptied until Tuesday, I'll be doing some pushing and shoving the next few days:rotfl: But I'm glad that's done:T However, I can't do any more decluttering until the bin is emptied. Hope the mood lasts until next week.

I vacuumed the cupboard while it was empty and then I vacuumed through downstairs.

    Made cottage pie for dinner.

Went out for my walk round the park, not quite as icy as yesterday but not quite as sunny either.

Not enough washing for a load.

Hope everyone's OK, going to finish catching up now.
  • Im pleased with my progress this morning! I started at the door of my lounge and have worked my way round...done about a third...but all the dvds are back in the right boxes and away on the shelf...now just to keep them that way! Just having a cuppa whilst the potatoes cook, having sheperds pie tonight, and then I must put the washing away and hang up the load thats just finished, and then if theres time crack on with the lounge before collecting my eldest from school...!

    Well in my hour I

    cleared DD's room,
cleared the enormous floordrobe in our room (normally I would blame OH but it seemed to be mostly mine this time :o)
put a load in the WM

Doesn't seem like much written down but at least I can see the floor in our room now!!

When we've finished our lunch I shall start sorting the shelves in the LR.
