Evening all!
I am feeling much better now luckily although I didn't feel well enough to go to college the other night.
Ed Byrne was hilarious last night, seems to be a geniunely nice man too! I am super duper excited about next Monday and seeing Michael Mcintyre though! :j
4 more days at current job.
. Bit sad as will miss quite a few of the people but won't miss the job/unprofessionalism there though!
I have £38 to last me until payday, I managed to cancel the gym today too, one more payment and then next year I will have £32 back a month. I don't actually remember last time I went, just don't have time.
.
I do need to pay £205 off main credit card on payday to ensure no interest is paid..... other card I can just pay £25 off as its still 0%, must remember to ring Tesco to find out hen 0% is up on that, think its February time.
Then will have joy of trying to get another 0% card!
Looking forward to new job, fresh start and making 2012 the mega savings year! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
I am at my dads at present - have escaped here to do some college work as the kids are at the house again and I can't get anything done with them there.....am starting to forget what weekends were like. We have had them for the last 3 weekends and have them next weekend too. Me and Simon never seem to get any time to do stuff together at the moment. Not that he seems that bothered....
Anyway before I go on a massive rant and get told I knew what I was letting myself in for I will steer off that subject....
Am stressing about college, managed to finish off one piece of work this morning here, still have an essay to do and a A3 poster to produce by Tuesday but I am out tomorrow night seeing Michael Mcintyre (:j) so I have to get it all done today.
One of my new years resolutions is to ensure all my college work is not left until the last minute.....:o.
Its payday tomorrow and as its christmas present buying month too I need to plan a very tight budget....will do another entry later when I am back home.
I must also finish my letter of complaint to Tesco today, I am so annoyed at them right now.
3 of the toys I ordered from the double up deal vouchers came crushed, phoned to complain and got told new ones would be sent out, day arrived when they were supposed to be delivered, one more phone call later and no log of original call, items arranged to be exchanged again though one no longer in stock so I only got a part £5 refund for that as used vouchers .
Then got an automated email with wrong delivery date on so had to call and query that and then when the other 2 toys did arrive they were crushed again!!!!
Their packaging is rubbish!!!
Their call centre were not very helpful, got another part refund back of £5 but I still have 3 crushed christmas presents as they said I would have to go into store this time to sort it out they would not exchange again!
I wouldn't have doubled up my vouchers if I had known all of this would happen as the toys cost more on tesco than amazon!
Hoping to get some form of compensation back but what I really want is uncrushed goods, that seems doubtful though! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Just a quick entry as I am about to get ready to go to the dentist......
Now when I had my braces I was good at going to the dentist but I haven't been for nearly 2.5 years now.... my gums are not in great condition so I am not looking forward to being told what I need doing....
And I have decided again that I am not happy with my teeth even though I had braces
I still have an overbite (though my teeth are pretty much straight now).
I am actually considering getting another set but part of me thinks I am just being stupid. Simon thinks I am mental.
I could have been a better behaved patient with my braces (rubbish with my elastics and never wore my retainer although I do have a perm one on back of my front lower and upper teeth) but I don't know if I can justify spending another £2500k on my teeth.... and I might still be unhappy after another set!
Its the one thing about my body I really hate though, just like some women get boob jobs I spend money on my teeth....then dont do it properly!
I did take out my tongue piercing though yesterday as its not helping my gums. I am wondering if I should have waited another few years for my braces but can't change the past now!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Hi I just wanted to say if you are still unhappy with your teeth then do whatever it takes to sort them, life's too short to be secretly conscious.. if you can do something about it then do BUT my advice would be get 3 opinions...then make your decision...I know it will cost you more for consultations but this time it's got to be right! Go for what makes you feel better.0

I won't be worrying about braces for a while....
Got the worst news I could have expected at the dentist which is my two bottom teeth have lost bone support and I might loose them.
.
I am devastated right now, been in tears about it. Simon's come home to try distract me.
Not happy with the dentist either, he wasn't very nice, I know I have been a bad patient again but I wouldn't have gone if I didn't want to try and sort it.
Just told me to come back in six months for another check up and that I need to brush and use floss sticks and antibacterial mouth wash 3 times a day but six months seems a very long time to wait to go back to see if it has helped or whether they still might be lost!
I am going to try get some more advice and prehaps go to another dentist even if I have to go private, he didn't comment on any of my other teeth so I presume I don't need any more fillings.
I know its not the end of the world but after spending £2500 on my teeth, still being unhappy and now faced with the possibility of fake teeth or implants I am pretty gutted. The brace might be one of the reasons this has occured as bones shift but I know I am prob part to blame too with my tongue piercing and leaving things too long.

hiya dawn, speaking as someone with the cackest teeth ever, i would definitely suggest a different dentist-yes the new one might tell you the same thing as your current one, but theres a lot to be said for good bedside manner when you're a dentist-my first dentist was so mean that it really scared me out of going to dentists for years, he was awful, but my current dentist is a million times better. i have several crowns, i was fortunate enough to get them on the nhs cos of my age at the time, and once they're in, they're just like normal teeth, honest-the way i see it with mine is that each crown is a tooth that can't get a hole in it and cost me money lol. i know how it feels to feel really awful after the dentist, but try not to get too down-at least you made the step to go to the dentist and you've been given advice-try following that and keep your chin up :-)Mortgage free wannabe #124

Thanks Sunshine, I have made an appointment with a private dentist for next Saturday to get a second opinion and some more advice. I spoke to the actual dentist over the phone and explained everything and he seemed really helpful.
Ok I will be paying more but I would rather pay and try save my teeth or if I need false ones then get it sorted sooner rather than later.
.
Bad teeth do run in my family, my brother has some crowns and my dad has loads of missing teeth at 60. My mum has all hers but they are very "bucky".
I found a picture of me when my braces where just put on yesterday which I took to see the progress and my gum is nicely intact so am sure the braces might have contributed to this, along with my tongue stud and lack of dental visits since brace was off....:o
I might still look into getting another brace once everything is healthy as the dentist do orthodontics too but it might be hard now.
The picture does remind me that they are a lot better than they were 3 years ago but I do think I am now going to be poor next year!!!
Lesson of the day kids go to the dentist a lot!!!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
i definitely think its worth investing in your teeth, so long as you can afford to, if they're causing insecurity-at least if you don't like your legs or tummy or something you can cover it up, but you can't do the same with teeth as they're constantly on display. Bad teeth run in my family too-i think my problems is my gums as opposed to my teeth though-my mum had the same problems and her teeth actually started coming away from her gums and she got all her teeth whipped out and false teeth put in on top when she was just 19-i can only imagine the agony!!
i'm defo going to be v strict on my kids with cleaning their teeth and dental appointments etc-hopefully they inherit my other halfs teeth, they're sickeningly perfect looking lolMortgage free wannabe #124

I could afford it if necessary, am annoyed at myself for not being the perfect brace patient first time round though as I might end up spending another couple grand on my teeth now!
My OH doesnt have amazing teeth and his son has bad teeth so if we have a child we are screwed! :rotfl:
I will force my child though to brush, go constantly and have braces when they are free!!!!
Trying to forget about it until next week though, I keep asking Simon if he will still love me if I have fake teeth and he says yes. Am glad he is not as shallow as my ex but when you have low self esteem things like this make me worry!
On a money note I am nearly @ another £5 swagbucks voucher.
I will do a full money post in the morning, to say I am skint this month is an understatement.
I don't know what date new job will pay me each month, will found out Monday when I start! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Maybe you could start a savings pot now for when its time to get the braces to take the sting out of the cost a little.0
