Debenhams nightmare

I placed an order online on Debenham's website on 27th of December to be delivered to the store. It was mentioned that it takes 4 working days for the order to be delivered.

Up to today (16th of January) my order has not been completed. Yesterday I received an email from Debenhams telling me that my order is ready to collect. But when I went to the store today they only gave me one out of my nine items and said that this is the only item that has been delivered and there should be some mistake with the system ...

Now they have wasted 3 weeks of my time and only delivered one of my items. When I call them they keep me on hold for 20 minutes and say that they will investigate while they don't.

I have sent them a complaint letter but their only reply was "we are sorry about that and your order is ready to collect" which in fact it isn't.
They also don't want to issue a refund because they claim half my order is ready in store when it isn't.

Is there any organization I can complaint to? They really !!!! me off and I want to make them pay.

Thanks :)

Cancel your order, Debenhams mainly sell tat anyway. They use several different warehouses, so an order will rarely come as one delivery.
    Gone ... or have I?

They havent wasted three weeks of your time, you have made an unneccesary trip to Debenhams for an order only partly there, and you won't get any money in compensation. Hardly a nightmare in the general scheme of things, cancel your order and shop elsewhere if you're that bothered.

As I mentioned they emailed me saying that my order was complete and ready for collection!
Also when I asked them to cancel, they claim that half the order is already in store so they won't refund those. The store staff are also completely useless

You could have got a refund whilst you were in the store?

No as they said it's an online purchase not in store!
  • If the item is in store they MUST give you a refund. Doesn't matter if it's from online or you just purhcased it in store - you will get a refund for that. They can't do anything if the item has been despatched until it arrives in store. They should have sent you a e-mail saying that only part of your order was ready if not take your e-mail in as proof and speak to a manager. the debenhams contact centre are crap. fact.
  • Reason is its outsourced!

Its outsourced to a company called The Listening Company and Debenhams only allow them to do certain things.
