Hello,
Not sure if this has been posted before but found out this week that if you are a Blue Badge holder, both the AA and RAC will give you a discount on your membership fees. All you have to do is to phone them and tell me you have a BB and ask about the discount available. Our membership has just reduced by about £55.

I thought everyone disabled got the free AA and RAC Disabled Drivers Assistance Card - I have mine here now.
If I breakdown I can obtain free roadside help from the AA/RAC.0 -
Never heard of that but google
If you breakdown you can use the card to obtain free roadside help from either the AA or RAC. It does not however cover the cost of any parts or repair charges etc but does provide basic assistance.

We've been with the AA for about 25 years; OH's had a BB for the last 10 years and we knew nothing about this. Just thought it might help someone else to know it was available.0

It's a bit unclear for my situation. I wonder if any if you could help. I am a blue badge holder but I don't own a car, I am a registered insured learner driver on a car but it is not now my primary vehicular transport (parents just split up, mum is carer so live with her, insured on dads car), it's too expensive for me to be insured on my mums car as its high performance etc but we are hoping to change it soon, mums car is registered with RAC. Would I be able to get any discount?0

I'm not sure..... I 'think' you have to be a member and then the discount is applied. The best thing, maybe, would be to give them a ring and ask. I found them really helpful.0

I cant seem to get the links to work.......but I will phone RAC as soon as I get 5 mins to see if its correct, ive not heard of this in the past, obviously if you buy a motability car it will come with AA or RAC cover , but I didnt know that you could get a discount if you have a BB and not on the motability scheme .....0 -
I couldn't believe it either until I phoned them (AA) A friend's OH is with the RAC and they have given him a discount too (He told me about it).0

Yes i have one of those cards and have used it a fair few times over the years on our second car (I also have a motability car covered seperately on the motability contract).
Although it says you are covered for 'basic cover', I have been towed home over 100 miles twice now without charge, also had roadside repairs carried out free, only once having to pay for a new part (a battery).
If one is entitled, certainly get one as it does save paying out yearly to join the AA/RAC etc.0
