Plus of course you will be able to grow your own. Or sell it at a market, as long as you dont make health claims, just sell it as a fresh herb - those who believe in the benefits would buy it.
Hey, this is a chance for smallholders to make some money at the expense of the Big Quack Millionaires.
You heard it here first.Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).

Yes, much as I suspected. You fail to understand the difference between herbal medicine and homoepathy- wildly conflating the two here.
FYI, the figure of NCE's ('new chemical entities') used in drugs launched on the market between 1981 and 2002 was calculated at 52 per cent by researchers at Ohio State University and Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy, College of Pharmacy, University of Illinois at Chicago.
The 25 per cent figure you quote is open to dispute. AFAIAA, the above isn't.
Your statement that 'herbalism isn't medicine' is, I repeat, nonsense.0 -

What isn't old news (and is why the BBC finally got round to covering it last week) is that the EU's diktat becomes effective from this coming April.0 -

It may be 25, 50 or 100, it doesnt matter. I was merely making the point that medicine does not shun plant compounds.
Herbalism is not medicine. I will concede that it is better than homeopathy, which sells people tiny bottles of water at ridiculous prices (where did perrier get their ideas from?), because some of its products DO work (due to the chemicals in them), however it is not medicine because it does not accept the rationale or subject itself to the rigorous testing that drugs do.
Let me ask a question
If one of your family (god forbid) had an illness like AIDS or bone cancer, would you phone the GP, or the herbalist?Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).
