PCN Enforcement

I received a PCN enforcement saying the amount due had been increased as I had failed to pay the original amount on time.
The PCN was issued when my wife left Sainsbury's 6 mins after issue of ticket(still have till receipt) but she saw no PCN on car.
Before reading these posts I unfortunately wrote explaining my wife was the driver and the first knowledge of the PCN was the enforcement notice.
Needless to say they still want the increased amount.

If you read the posts on here (and there are lots of them) you will see that there are two golden rules. First is to ignore the letters and second is never to say who was driving.
You would be best locating the thread pertaining to the company who issued the PCN and ask on there as there are plenty of threads already. Use the search function. If I had a pound for every pound I'd lost, I'd be confused0 -
simply ignore them from here on in, the invoice is not enforceable at all, instead write a letter of complaint to sainsbury head office addressed to their chief exective, about the fact that they have cowboy parking companies harrassing legitimate shoppers parking at thier supermarkets.

They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

They can want all they want !. Ignore this letter and probably the following 2 solicitors letter that will follow.

And it's not a PCN. Councils issue PCNs, this is just a piece of toilet paper.
Which company is it by the way?0 -
The fact that the OP's account refers to Sainsbury's does not, of course, mean that the car park was owned by them and it could well be that the car park in question is operated by the council and that this was a genuine PCN - i.e. a Penalty Charge Notice.
However, as the story involves Sainsbury's it could well mean that this is another outing for Euro Car Parks - bearing in mind they call their invoices Parking Charge Notices.
@OP - If your case involves a genuine, Council-issued Penalty Charge Notice then post you details on the Parking & Decriminalised Notices section of the PePiPoo forum (click here for the link) where you will get far more detailed advice as to how to deal with the matter. As many as 50% of Council tickets are not worth the paper they are printed on and many recommend automatically appealing any Council ticket regardless.
If however, your "ticket" (actually nothing more than an invoice) was issed by Euro Car Parks or any other private parking company (PPC) then you may safely ignore it and go and sit down and enjoy a nice glass of wine.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
If this is Euro Car Parks it's nothing to worry about. Forget it except for complaining to Sainsburys.
I had a ECP parking charge slapped on my car 2 years ago. Nothing happens of course except the usual letters from them and Control Account. All the standard letters they use are shown in one of our sticky threads at the top here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
That's the whole board, all the posts, all the stickies. Also see the other sticky by Crabman 'Read this before posting' which links you to a youtube showing of Watchdog's advice on these fake parking tickets. It's pretty clear I think that ignoring is the way.
And DO complain very strongly to Sainsburys!
There is NO fine, they CANNOT fine you, so why retailers think it's a good idea to let a private company send threatening letters to loyal paying customers is anyone's guess. The more retailer complaints the better, this will be the way to get these parasites kicked out of car parks.
Do not word it as an appeal and do not try to 'excuse' the time your wife took to do her shopping or where she parked, you do NOT have to answer to a private company (and nor do you have to continue to give Sainsburys your business, tell them this very clearly!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
