Another reason I'm happy to be a vegetarian, no need to worry about dodgy supermarket meat or fish :smug giggle:

Pointless tidbit, but pushing down the price of meat usually means the animal it came from would have had a pretty awful and painful existence and pumped full of all sorts of nasty chemicals that you will then ingest, so God knows what this new trend of factory farming will be doing to the populations long term health.

Morrisons did a quaint thing with the veg, they put details of the British farm it's grown on, you can go on the website and read details about the farmers and stuff....it's nice.
This post was brought to you from the vortex of a human psyche, it was approved by my poor judgement. :T

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Luckily I have a real life local butcher less than 100yards from my front door.

Lovely fresh meat cut to suit me not the packaging in big stores. And they always have time to chat, say hi etc

Just a pity the bakers which was around the corner gave up the ghost a couple of years ago

Why would you need to check the farm some veggies came from?

Is there any history of brussel sprouts and carrots being reared in inhumame conditions?

    Lin ;)
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

there have been plenty of food poisioning outbreaks from fruit and veg ;) especially organic ;)

OP, the reason why your fish is grey loking is arnt the supermarkets and fish farms phasing out the artificial colourings that they have been using on fish for some years? http://www.smithandlowney.com/salmon/pressrelease/

So your product is now more natural than before, and you are not used to it?

Saying that I wouldnt buy meat there, I sometimes do, then instantly regret.

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Asda pizzas that they make up at the counter are really nice, but the rest of their food is best avoided in my experience. The Coop do nice fresh chicken, Elmwood I think they call it.

I agree that sometimes things are too cheap. I would rather pay more and think that the people overseas who produce it are getting a decent wage. Sometimes it seems like the stuff that is good for you - quality meat and veg, fruit - cost a fortune and chavvy processed crud is dirt cheap.
