So the cheapest car on it is £9k, and that's for a smart car :rotfl:

Only one saloon car on there, and only 3 estates, all very expensive to buy.

No 2nd hand cars would ever be exempt.

Surely a second hand car from the list WOULD be exempt! Not all second hand cars are 10 year old bangers. You can buy a 12-24 month old car without paying for the initial depreciation.

All VED rate amendments are announced in the budget. Every year, as my car tax is due in March (I can only buy a 12 month disc as low co2) I have to take a gamble on whether to tax before the budget, or wait until after in case it decreases even more!

They replied within a few hours to my query for Band F car - £130 from 1/4/11 for 12 months for a petrol/diesel car, £120 for an alternative fuel car.
