Time I got my two penneth in then, I use Norton 2011 (cos I can ) and Avast + Comodo Firewall on my netbooks (cos it's free and light, like the netbook:p) and my XP . But I also use Firefox (Noscript+AdblockPlus), MVPS host file and Spywareblaster. Mind you there is nothing better than [STRIKE]disabling the mouse[/STRIKE] engaging the brain when tempted to use dodgy sites

I've got the free version, of that, plus spyware blaster (old, but handy, was thinking of paying for that), sandboxie (v useful, was thinking of paying for that), online armour free, and Anvir task manager (full shareware version which I got for free from dottech). With all my security FF addons, MBAM full, would probably be overkill for me.0 -

my tuppenceworth, FWIW.....
after some debate on closed's "speed-up" thread t'other day, I re-ran avira (used on my desktop) and avast (used to use on desktop and is on the kid's lappys) back-to-back again....avira lower pings and faster browsing, avast slower on both but uses less RAM, but far better than MSE which is a resource-hog and puts ping times well up
.
verdict - for me avira on my desktop, but avast a close second
