Really does vary, I was given #300, flatmate #1,000.
Izools just had another look on your signature mate, and see you have a cap 1 progess card, but underneath a loan from Zopa, have you thought about applying for a barclaycard platinum and getting rid of cap 1 progress, the reason I m saying this as we all know Zopa searches Equifax and are also very strict on their credit scoring hence the reason your credit file is good enough to be accepted for the platinum or even simplicity?0 -

Mate Barclaycard won't even give me an Initial with a brand new loan on my EQ report!
I'm going to wait until the loan is at the bare minimum 6~9 months old before applying elsewhere - Barclaycard are very strict about debt to income so I'll be waiting until I've got the balance down and had no new accounts / credit searches for said 9 months or so before hitting up Barclaycard again.
Besides which, I'm not eligible to apply for a Barclaycard having only recently closed one
Good call though, I'm thinking the same thing, just counting time...
The Barclaycard Pre-App checker isn't even coming up with Initial any more
LOL Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Yeah see your point, funny bunch barclaycard are, I am not to bothered about a credit limit increase on my barclaycard but they won't budge on my limit, I thought they would of automatically increased it by now as it will be a year come march 7..0 -

True that.
I was given £200 when I got capital one progress six months. However they didn't increase my limit stating that I didn't make any transactions within first 3 months which was uttor tosh. I regularly used the card and still use it.
I chased up and capital one staff said. There was a mistake in a letter sent to you. Credit limit doesn't apply to your account unlike automatic reduction of my apr.
Lol so I am expecting my apr to shrunk to 22 in next 4 months as it has already gone through one reduction. But seriously limit of £200 makes it pretty uselss. I might even close it if they don't increase the limit after completion of 2nd cycle.0 -
HSBC still won't give me a Credit Card though, I'll try again in May (last tried 1st Nov after they opened the Current A/C).
Hopefully the fact that my current a/c balance with them fluctuates between #750 and #2,000 will help my credit card app in May. Never gone anywhere near the O/D. If I do get an HSBC Mastercard I'll keep Capital One anyway - as it's good to have one card to repay in full each month and another with a low standard rate.
Izools, did you get your overdraft at account opening? I opened my HSBC account in June 2010 and applied for overdraft and credit card but was refused. Then applied for a small £100 overdraft by November and it was accepted. Finally I have applied for the credit card this month and have also been accepted with a limit of £2000 @ 16.9%.
Do you believe I could ask the overdraft to be increased to £1000 or £2000?
My account balance has fluctuated between £1500 and £3000 and I have also opened an ISA and a regular saver where I pay £250 each month, so I guess that helps in the internal scoring.
By June I'll take the chances and apply for a £7000 loan for a car.
By the way, I also have the Cap One classic with a £400 limit that I will keep exclusively for online purchases and the free Equifax reports and an Aqua card with £650 limit that I want to close if my application for a Halifax Clarity card is successful. That's all I want and need for now.0 -

This is exactly what has happened to me. I got the same letter, same explanation and I'm still stuck with the same poxy limit!PMA - Positive Mental Attitude
