Lidl-shocking diced beef.

Its saturday night and my girlfriend has slaved away to make me a romantic meal (goulash) for two and how shocking was the meat in it.

I've never shopped at Lidl but regretabbly ventured in there today.

We bought diced beef, this is no lie. It was shocking. It was like chewing a stress ball. Totally unfit for sale to the public!!

You have been warned. Lidl diced beef is shockingly bad.

It would be more pleasant chewing a rubber gorrila! Remember those?

Usually diced beef is only good for use in like slow cookers. I've had diced beef on it's own from Tesco before & it was very chewy. So not just Lidl

No problems for me either, in fact no problem at all with any Lidl meat.
I bought quite a bit of the diced meat when it was on the half price weekend deal and I normally cook it in a pressure cooker first.
I normally use it for "steak and ale".

We shop often in Lidl and have never been impressed with the meat products on offer. We do find it worthwhile going there for all the other bargains.

I use Lidl diced steak and beef very often and everyone likes it but like all cheap cuts it has to be cooked slowly , always comes out as good as my local butchers when I use them instead here.

Searing it first or cooking fast I find is a definite no no and that along with microwaving etc will make it like rubber ,

    How was it cooked ?

Cooking it from a recipe for goulash that uses sirloin or good non stewing steak wont do as they cook far too quickly which is fine for expensive cuts

I bought the basic diced beef from Sainsburys for the slow cooker. It turned out hard and chewy. Never again.

I sometimes get this and it's always been lovely. Again, it's always been cooked slowly.

We got the meat from Lidl & cooked it slowly for 4 hours & it was still chewy!!!!!
    Shop one - A vs T
    Shop two - A vs W
    And then repeat :j:j:j
    & now add - A vs S
What the heck A vs the world :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Do Lidl's vary in where they get their meat from? I don't have any just now so can't recall what brand it is.
