BT charges £30 to disconnect broadband

After suffering with BT for years now on broadband, and each year I sign up they tell me they will be upgrading their exchange any day now and I will get a faster speed than 1mb, apparently too far away from the exchange to get faster. So decided enough was enough, Virgin have laid the cable in the street so decided to go with them, I called BT as my contract ends on Jan 20th to cancel broadband and was told because I am at the end of the contract no charges will incur, they asked if I need a mac code to change to Talk Talk or Sky, I told them I was stopping the service altogether, and was then told there would be a £30 charge as they have to remove the equipment from the exchange, which made me smile.
When asking the guy where this £30 charge is in the terms and agreement he said he would email it to me, nothing in my email at the moment has anyone else came across this charge and does anyone know where I might I find it on the BT site.
Thanks

If you are not moving from one ADSL provider to another then the costs (rightly) are paid by you. Who do you think should pay it? Ordinarily, in an ADSL to ADSL MAC switch the costs are paid for with the bundle from the new supplier. This is not an option with cable.Ending your agreement
27. Separate minimum periods will apply to the service we supply to you and to each other user depending on the pricing option and package you choose. These are detailed in the Tariff Guide.
28. If you are using any services, applications or features which are free of charge, these will end on the day your agreement with us ends.
29. When you end your broadband service and do not request and use a migration authorisation code (MAC) or another recognised transfer process to move to another service provider you will have to pay a cease charge of £30. You will not have to pay this charge in the event you are moving home and we are unable to provide the service at the new UK address.does anyone know where I might I find it on the BT site0 -

BT (Wholesale?) charges ALL ADSL providers (including BT Retail) that use their broadband product a £30 disconnection fee if ADSL is ceased rather than transferred to a new provider. The majority of providers pass this charge directly to the customer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
