This wouldn't happen to be chairs for a £1 would it?
Some offers are to good to be true. A shop is not seriously going to sell an item for £700 less that the start price even in a sale. There is no point in getting up tight and taking it so seriously.
Its great when you get a bargain but before you think you are getting the deal of the century please ask yourself the following question "IS IT TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE" If the answer is yes then you probably won't get the deal.
There have been so many offers on the grabit board for thing at stupidly low prices and everytime people are quite in shock the company selling the item send an email cancelling their order.

If this is about the £1 chairs then please get real!!!

Some glitches are too good to be true and 9/10 that is exactly what they are. If they are honoured great, if not.....move on and wait for the next glitch!

I love a glitch as much as anyone else but I am realistic and never EXPECT it to be honoured......that way I will not be disappointed.

I echo the above 2 posters. Did you really think you'd get a £700 chair for £1? Get real. It was an error. We all knew that and in our heart of hearts didnt expect to receive it.

  • They did the same to me months ago. I paid and had a confirmation email and then a day or two later an email cancelling my order saying out of stock. I was gutted as I really wanted the item. This put me off from buying from them since.

I know, it's one thing if it's a glitch because you expect it to be cancelled but when it's full priced item, it really shouldn't happen and there are times when you are reliant on it. I understand that M&S have a system where upon their stock isn't updated regularly but that's not my problem, it's theirs and it would seem that they are losing customer confidence by the droves.

Given that M&S posted the £1 chairs twice, I think they are deliberately doing it in the hope that you order more than the £1 chairs and when they cancel your £1 chair order you still buy the other items.

They did it to me with wallpaper, i ordered seven rolls for five quid each, then they sent me an email saying they didnt have any in stock.
  • M&S are carp.

Only bothered about profit today not profit tomorrow, next month or next year.

Never giving them another penny unless I know its going to cost them.

Not sure if people are aware, but M&S online is run by Amazon, not by M&S themselves. Amazon makes lots of mistakes with pricing on the site, evidenced by the many glitches and cancelled orders when prices are clearly wrong.

It make me wonder how aware M&S management are of these errors and what sort of commercial arrangements they have when such errors happen.

Like my other half often says, there's no such thing as a free lunch. If they were to honour those £1 chairs, someone would have to pay somewhere along the line. That person would be the consumer in one way or another. M&S will protect their margins, so prices would increase to compensate.

I ordered some furniture from M&S for a bargain price. I checked the stock before ordering and there were plenty of items left....

If you're referring to the £1 chairs then you need to be more realistic.. you agree that it was a bargain price, sometimes these bargain prices are too good to be true. At the time of ordering, I'm sure it must have occurred to you that the order might not be fulfilled? I think you should be prepared for the worst with these bargains, that way it comes as a pleasant surprise if they're fulfilled and you won't be disappointed if they aren't!

Personally, I've had fantastic customer service with M&S on most occasions, although there have been some instances where they haven't been so helpful - but that's to be said for ALL retailers.

I think they're using this site and other similar money saving sites as cheap advertising, I mean they often have glitches and the chair has been done already. Imagine the traffic that their website experienced due to this glitch. And how many people bought other items on that visit. We are a cheap marketing tool for m&s. I could of course be wrong but this is how I see it.
