Hi All

Tis my first post so please be gentle.....
Looking to book a flight to Perth (oz) and have been given a good-ish price by Alpha Flights. Firstly has anyone had dealing with this agent, and secondly are TTA ok?

just checked, no alpha is quoting abot £100 cheaper with singapore airlines, am waiting for them to call me back. They appear to be apta protected too....

actually scrap that, it's apparantly been sold to someone else....back to the drawing board!!

Just want to reopen this thread as I am looking to book flights to Charlotte NC and Alphaflights is more than £200 cheaper than elsewhere. Anyone has experience with them? Good or bad let me know.

just look at the experience of post 4#. They may look cheap, however when you try book online you normally get a message saying booking pending and you need to call, and then - all of a sudden - the 'last seat has just been sold', and then work on you to sell a higher price which you feel obliged to do, as they already have your card details.

When comparing prices for flights etc, always make sure that the flight offered IS ACTUALLY THERE, is a fully inclusive cost (taxes, charges etc), and the appropriate protection is there (ATOL, SAFI etc)

The site does have Atol and Safi logos on there but I know how easy they are to fake. I will call and see what they can do and not stand for 'any nonesense'!

I've just organised some flights with these chaps, and I have only good things to say about the experience. This is the review I put somewhere else:

Having trawled the internet for a flight, I gave Alphaflights a call and within a few minutes they quoted me a significant saving. They took my details and eMailed them back to me ten minutes later to confirm everything was correct; I replied in the affirmative and three working days later had my flight ticket, which I could double-check on the actual airline's webpage (Lufthansa).

The chap on the phone was very polite and gave me his direct number for any questions I might have. He explained the cost breakdown and what they were charging me, and also made it clear that any changes etc. would cost more money, as they do run on a very tight margin - fair deal, I think; he told me this all up front so if I want the flexibility to change things, I could have gone back to the Airline myself and bought the more expensive flexible tickets.

Ultimately, I paid 30% less for my flights than what the airline would have charged me. They did exactly what the chap on the phone said - significant savings made in exchange for having to agree the flight on the phone with him so he could book it there and then, and no flexibility if I have to change plans. The way they operate means you have to confirm and pay that same day - it's how they manage to get such big savings.

Ultimately, I was very happy with the service and have in fact just recommended Alphaflights to friends.

You get cheap flights; the cost is a loss of flexibility. It's a trade-off I'm very happy to make.

DO NOT USE ALPHAFLIGHTS !!!!
I recently spoke to an operator at Alphaflights who did not understand "I AM NOT FLEXIBLE ON MY DATES" this should have raised the alarm bells but alas it didn't. Eventually he understood my requirements and emailed me an itinery which I had to reply to confirm my requirements to enable booking to proceed. I was strict on my flights as I had connecting flights.
The following day I received an "E TICKET" which had a different return journey to the one I had requested. I emailed to see if this was a mistake and subsequently spoke to the operator who told me that it was a mistake and not to worry the original email was the flights booked.
A week later, today, I received another "ETICKET" wrong one again. I called up and was told that last week when I called I was informed they booked the wrong flight and I had said it was "OK" Like hell I did!!!! I I challanged the operator and he was very rude, constantly talking over me, called me a liar and despite the evidential email trail stating they booked the incorrect flights. He hung up on me! I called and spoke to the superviser Ricky who eventually told me they would change the tickets but it would cost £440!!! He said the company would pay half but I would need to meet him half way!! Half way for their mistake??? Absolutely not. I was also told that the operator might lose his job and he has a family to support???? I asked why he would lose his job and was told because he had made a loss for the company. Emotional tactics!......
My tickets were just over £1.5K so we're talking a lot of money here. I refused the half hearted offer and they would not fully rectify the problem so I am left with a return ticket for two which is obsolete due to their incompetance. PLEASE BE CAREFULL USING THIS COMPANY. I WOULD AVOID IT - DO NOT OPEN YOURSELF UPTO HOURS OF EMAILING AND TELEPHONE CALLS DISPUTING FOR THE SAKE OF £20-50 WITH A REPUTABLE COMPANY. I am an established traveller and have never come accross anything like it.

Fortunately all booked on VISA - dispute forms on their way.
