Advice needed re E7 and portable heaters

    Macman, yes i was thinking that too... so, the only reason for remaining on E7 tariff is if I retain storage heaters.. I thinkthat if I change to an alternative heater such as oil filled panel radiators or oil filled finned rads then I am better off changing to an all day rate.... again thank you so much for replying!

    If you decide to fit a new storage heater and it is fixed to an outside wall, putting radiator foil behind it, can help it retain the heat. I did this in the bedroom and it made a noticeable difference to how long the heat lasted. The lounge heater is on an internal wall, so it would make no difference, as the house gets all the heat..

    I would also vote for Creda, which I have found very reliable. My Dimplex is ok, but I have to clean and adjust the control panel every few years, or it goes a bit berserk!

    I'm not very keen on the combined storage heater convectors, we had one in the office where I used to work and no matter how you set it, it didn't work very well.
