I am taking massive doses of morphine@ 400mg daily having been on it for years..that 100mg 4 hrly...morphine is not heroin....diamorphine is heroin...just thought inform you on the matter.

I am well aware of that fact :) A long time ago I used to associate morphine with heroin, but only because it was in the same family. I was just mentioning it in line with what Brassedoff wrote
My meds have made me a legalised junkie. I am even going to opt for a nerve removal op to take the pain receptors/ends away. I can then work on getting off morphine/heroin.

Ramsas How long have you been on Morphine for? And would you mind me asking what you take it for? I apologise if I am being too nosey but it's just a huge amount and quite scary! I am told constantly by various Dr's I am on a large amount at the age of 26. x

My husband has had low level chemo, he does not have cancer. But it was used to treat his condition. Freaked other people out but not us.

He also takes a drug for transplant patients to stop organs being rejected.

Sounds weird to some but us to it makes sense. As we are on the inside, we keep abreast of the treatments for his condition. So know why it is being used.

You are right about morphine being used on terminal patients. But it is also used because of the pain relief. When my husband went in to hospital just before we discovered his condition. They gave him morphine. Did not touch the pain for him. But we did not think it was weird or he was terminal.

    All the best.

    Yours

    Calley

I take meds for my RA that were designed for chemo, I take meds for my spasms that were designed for depression and epilepcy and I am on pain killing drugs 80xs the strength of morphine and oramorph but Im certainly not a junkie, pain is the same as heart disase or high diabetes and they are controlled in the same way with drug therapies.

zoelikesjam I am 42 now and Ive been on opiates for 20 years now and I will be on them till the day that i die.
