PAYG Tesco mobile problems
I wonder if anyone else has come across this. I had a Tesco pay as you go mobile which went wrong. My husband bought me a second hand iPhone which I just put my Tesco sim in. It was okay to start with. However, recently I have found that my credit just seems to be disappearing. I have rung Tesco 3 times about this and they have put the credit back on to my phone saying that it is connecting to the internet which is what is costing me money.
I never use the internet on my iPhone, I use it mainly to text. Tonight I find that I started the evening with £5.69 credit and on checking my balance just now find the credit has gone down to £1.96.
I haven't used my phone all evening so don't know why this has happened. Has anyone else come across this problem? or have any advice as to why it is happening?
Thanks

Iphone = Smartphone = always on data connection and always on data apps unless you switch them off .
Thats the whole idea behind the IPhone .

What JJ said, you might not think you're using the net, but you are.
There is a cellular data toggle, turn that to off and you will save your credit (whilst cripplingly the phone in all honesty).0 -
Sure if you read the manual looked at the settings etc you can have a phone that does what it was built to do and spend little on data .
My Smartphone is set for no data connection use wifi no updates of programs running apps etc . If i want the news i connect but do not leave it running 24 hours as news when i am asleep is pointless likewise with maps and other stuff i want i turn on .
= Data charges so far January .60p .
Cannot tell you what to do as its not an IPhone but principle remains the same .
Going to swop to Tesco sim if they give money back on legitimate charges .

Reasons not to use tesco mobile
They cap the spend to £90. If you go over it you cannot pay with a debit or credit card until a month end bill is produced so you stay cut off
It take 6 hours for top ups to be activated
They sent me an email with other customers full bank, address, password, card details on and werent bothered. Proof is available, ive saved the emails
Customer services only open during the day
They were cheap when they first started, but Ive just moved to O2 for the same price and get much better service.0
