I wouldn't be surprised if the buyer sends you a blank envelope via recorded delivery just so they have a tracking number to show the ticket has been " returned and received " , be careful what you sign for.

Edit - Just seen the other thread and your post -
Ps i should also note that i have sold many tickets with the same add and have not come across this problem.

Are you a ticket tout ? if you are then ignore what I said and sign for any letters you receive , hopefully you'll get ripped off :p
  • Even if they refuse to sign for it it would show on the tracking as refused so Paypal would still issue the refund wouldnt they? (though it would also depend if the postie even tried to get a signature with recorded delivery!)
  • No i am not a ticket tout!! i bought a bunch of the same tickets for people in my family and my brother did the same. so we bothe decided to sell one set and keep the other.

cheers wayne you ding bat lolololololol

And how can pay pall issue a refund if i do not allow them go take it out of my bank

I must be really thick, Because I didn't really understand your ad either. Seems a bit all over the place? No wonder bidder got confused when you have 2x everything.

don't understand why you started a second thread?

Putting aside the difficult ad, your buyer is being unreasonable in saying that they want to cause you more trouble, they seem determined to cause more of a problem for you than a simple refund, but I'm struggling on how to resolve this.

You could call paypal/ebay for advice re: timescales on the item, although I think the buyer would win a SNAD, its getting it sorted in a reasonable timeframe. You could claim that if used, the ticket would not be returned in its original state but again not sure how far you'd get.

At least you have emails from the buyer which may back up a paypal claim.

You could offer the second ticket at a reduced price and see if they bite?

Hmm, how far away is the concert time wise?

I suggest we move away from the confusing ad and put our heads together to solve this: the seller is highly unlikley to send a second ticket at the original agreed price ...hmmm now wheres Soolin??
  • Unfortunately I am inclined to agree with the others, your auction was misleading (whether that was deliberate or not) and it will rule in the buyers favour should they choose to claim.

There isn't much that can be done, if you have offered a refund and offered them to buy an additional ticket and they have refused make sure you have proof of this should it go to a claim. Perhaps it may be worth asking the ebay team their advice to see if they can help resolve things.

Whether the auction was worded incorrectly or not, there will always be a dishonest buyer (as much as there are dishonest sellers I'm sure) who would have bought the tickets and returned them as fakes, or claim they were never received etc.

I hope you manage to resolve the problem quickly and as painless as possible.

  • yes i could argue that the buyer understood the ad and they are chancing their luck. but in all farness i have offerd a full refund and asked for the ticket to be sent back. and the buyer has refused to send the ticket back untill i send the refund.

    i have contacted ebay
and customer service has said that the buyer has only bought one ticket and not two.

pug_in_a_bed I agree with you a solution should be give and i did that, but the buyer has refused this.
