I have a masive problem with a ebay buyer
I have sold tickets on to them and they only bought 1 ticket but they thought they bought 2.
They have failed to read the add
my ad said the following
2X USHER TICKETS SECC OMG TOUR! A MUST SEE EVENT!!!.
USHER OMG TOUR 2011 SECC
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT
I AM SELLING 2 USHER TICKETS FOR THE SECC IN GLASGOW
Tickets are for standing only and will sell TICKETS as EITHER 1 or as 2 (let me know which you prefer!)
* The price is for one ticket!!
Please note that (* The price is for one ticket!!) was in red underlined and stared!!!!
so the buyer bought one and only put the number 1 in the
Quality box so they bought 1.
And they buyer has placed an order for one ticket not two.
buy placeing a number 1 in the quality box.
But the buyer thought they where buying two tickets and should have put a number 2 in the quality box if they wanted 2.
The ebay buyer now wants a refund as they have faild to read the full add. Not my mistake.
I have agreed to this but they have said that they will not send the ticket back untill they recieve a refund i have said no to this.
The buyer has Threatened to contact ebay and paypal.
But as i can see it is not my fault that a buyer cant read an ad.
Any advice

Nowadays, listings have to be absolutely crystal clear, because most buyers seem to skim them or just go off the photo. I sell an item where it's unusually small for what it is, so I put "5mm size" in the header, "smallest you'll find" in the listing, have a photo with a tape measure next to it showing the size, and STILL get people returning them saying "I thought they'd be bigger".
In your situation, I'd suggest being really sympathetic and non-confrontational, but suggesting they raise it as a Paypal claim in order to follow the "proper" process. Paypal should enforce their rule that before a refund is granted, the item must be returned by trackable means. While there are a couple of ways for dedicated fraudsters to get around this, the majority of people are honest and will do as asked, and then you can give him his refund.
Assuming you've got time to relist the ticket(s), I'd either do two separate listings each for one ticket, or do a single listing which is clearly for them both. That way, it should be clear for even the daftest buyer what they're getting !
Good luck

I have simply copied my reply from your other thread. I must say I dont see why you felt the need to start two identical threads within an hour of each other? didnt you like the advice received? please let me know as I do feel this is kinda odd!jennypdolphin wrote: »If they open a paypal dispute they will have to return before you refund anyway so dont worry too much on that score.
I must say though that I found your OP quite confusing and if that is your exact wording I can see where they may have got confused (especially if they have English as a second language or arent as highly literate as some) it may be worth using this experience as a form of constructive critisism on your listing style and upgrade your wording for future adverts (due to the unclear listing it may be worth offering to also cover their return postage)0 -
well i have offerd a full refund but they said they are going to send the ticket back after the concert is over.
so i fell that if that is the case they are useing the ticket as they please!!
and it dosnt suprise me why this country is in so much of a mess when people cant even read a simple add..0 -

Could it be the wording in your ad was somewhat ambiguous? When selling, you need to be clear. Your OP detail, if an example of that, is far from clear.

Unfortunately there are a lot of listings on ebay with the titles like yours.
2 x CONCERT TICKETS ....
With all those you get two tickets so I suspect it was a mistake to list one ticket the same way.
Think about if you would now be better off sending them a second ticket if you are going to lose money on the first. It is not a nice position to be in but this would put the matter behind you quickly.0 -
yes but i did state in bold red writing underlined that the price listed was for one ticket!!
and why should i send a 2nd when they have only paid for one ticket.
like i said it is not my fault that they havent read the ad. and to add to this i have had many people who have bought 2 tickets or just the 1 ticket and they where able to read the ad and understand it.0 -
When is the concert? will it fall within the 45 day paypal claim window?
How did they state that they would use the ticket before returning it? Email? Ebay message? is it clear enough that if you were to have a claim opened you could contact ebay/ring paypal an attempt to speak to a real person to get some support based on that?0 -
yes it is in the 45 day period.
well they just said they will not return the ticket untill after the concert so i could not relist it or sell it and i would lose more money. After i offerd a full refund.
After them saying that i am starting to feel that i should owe them nothing. not my fault they cant read an ad.0 -
Did they say it through email? phone call? ebay message? how!? it may be worth ringing Paypal or Ebay to discuss what they think you should do. stating that the buyer has stated they will not return until after the tickets useable period and that it therefore wont be in the same condition as when you sent it (as a fully useable ticket) simply see what they say, offer to forward them the email (if that is how it was said)0

through email i have saved them all. thanks for the advice0
