can i have 2 browsers on one laptop?

Sorry but Im a bit rubbish with computers.

I currently use a laptop with Internet explorer.

I like to play games on Facebook but have heard that they run better on google chrome.

So can I download Chrome and use it just for Facebook? Or do I have to take IE off the laptop?

I may even just stick to google chrome i like it :)

Im so confused!!!!!!!!

Two browsers are no problem, I use four - Opera and Firefox, with occasional IE and Chrome
  • Cool......how do you know which one is best?

And if you dont mind me asking why do you use 4?!!!!!

  • Hi,

I've just got IE and Firefox, use FF mostly and keep IE just incase of any problems with FF.

You can have them both running at the same time.

As many as you like. Try them all and decide which is best for you-there is no 'best browser'.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Each browser uses its own cookie set, so forum trolls often have their numerous identities logged on in different browsers so they can post as "different" posters.

There are a lot of very strange people in Internetville!

More practically, some websites only offer full functionality with IE, so even those of us who are evangelical about Firefox need to keep it on standby.

FWIW, I have both IE and Chrome.

I have to use IE because that's the only browser that the office systems will work on. Chrome is for personal browsing.

Yes but those websites that "only offer full functionality with IE" don't necessarily comply with accepted standards, but one day hopefully they all will. However it is up to user choice which browser he/she uses/prefers, but as frugal says just in case keep IE on there too.

I have the following 5 installed: Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari, IE.
I rate them in the above order of preference, and mainly use Firefox, but I have to ise IE for some things.

I've got FF, and Opera, both with security addons. I'm currentl using FF, but may go back to Opera.

I have IE, only because one of my applications won't run without it, but rarely use it due to security issues.
