Nigerian Paypal scam

I recently put a post on gumtree selling my blackberry as i hated it... i got an email literally within about 30 minutes of putting the ad up from a guy who said he worked at Bristol airport and he couldn't get over to pick it up. He said he would pay via paypal and offered me £280 inc postage. I thought great! Then he said he wanted it sending to his younger brother in Nigeria. Alarm bells started to ring but I thought I'll have his payment, leave it a few days to see if it gets reversed or whatever and then I'll send. He wanted it internationally signed for anyway so didnt really see a problem. I got this email - supposedly from paypal:

I thought its a scam - paypal being redirected - i think not! Since then Ive had other countless disturbing emails saying:
Your Account Will Be Suspended Within 48Hours!
Protect Your Account Info Make sure you never provideyour password to fraudulent websites.

Now because I stupidly put my number on gumtree for people to get in touch with me - im recieve nuscience calls off him threatening me saying hes gonna crash a plane into my house, come round to my house and shoot me. I rang the police re: the threats and the phone calls which i recorded saying he knows where i live etc. The police hung up on me!! :-O

The scammer isn't in Bristol at all, the paypal transaction email is fake, and the police will not be able to help much as the scammer is probably in a cafe in Lagos. 070 numbers can redirect free of charge to any phone number worldwide (almost) but look a bit like UK mobile numbers, which these crooks rely on.

Or you could always do what I did in this situation.....
I picked up a few bits of dog sh*t from my back garden, put them into an envelope and sent it to the scammer's address in Nigeria by the requested internationally signed for, and emailed him the tracking number as requested.
Surprise surprise as soon as I sent over the tracking number, all contact with him stopped. But I sat back quite happy, knowing that in a few days time they would receive my "parcel".0 -
