I must tell you all how great British Gas have been after we took out thier home cover for our water/heating/electrics.
They have been fab - we needed then last month when our kitchen sink blocked. They sent round Dynarod as part of my cover the same day I made the call.
Then this month we had to call them out again for a problem with our heating system and we got someone out next day (which was a Sunday) and they sorted it.
They are great - especially if you don't have anyone living nearby who can help with stuff like this. Its great peice of mind for us and they are always really quick at responding to cals you make.
If you are umm and ahhing about whether to take out over ....Do It!!!
I am sure you will be as pleased as we are.

Sorry I can't let British Gas get this mention without making others aware that they're not always so good.
A couple of years ago I bought a derelict cottage. It was that run down it only had 3 walls. British Gas had been around and disconnected the supply months before I bought the place. After I'd had the builders in for 3 months I got a demand for payment for gas I'd used ! Phoned them up and they agreed that there wasn't a supply and the account should have been closed, and that they'd do it now. 2 weeks later got a threatening letter. Phoned them up and was told to ignore it. Another 2 weeks later, another letter arrives. If I don't pay within 7 days they'd pass the debt to a collection agency and they'd have authority to remove goods to the value of the debt, plus their costs. Phoned British Gas and was told to ignore the letter. So I say no, send a letter to the debt collectors and also send me a copy. The lady refused and also refused to give me her name. I asked to speak to her manager, who informed me that I'd have to pay the debt and then claim it back from the agency. She also refused to give her name. I then informed her that should anybody enter my property, remove any goods, or my name be added to a bad debtors list I would sue British Gas. She put the phone down on me. I wrote to Customer Services informing them of my displeasure, and asked for their reassurance, in writing, that I would not be added to any bad debtors list. I didn't even get a standard reply.
Ever since this farce I've been advising people with British Gas to change supplier. I must had persuaded 8 people so far.Every silver lining has a cloud...

Hello
Once again 5* service from my British Gas Home service. They are blimmin excellent. I rang them as my shower packed up, and as its a downstiars bathroom I know we had unusual electricity supply and asked if they could come out and recommend what voltage of shower would be safe.
They were fab. Sent someone next day. Very professional. I know it sounds like I am being paid to say this but I cannot recommend them highly enough.:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0 -

They're better than Powergen!
Sorry, that's not saying much, is it?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Hello
Once again
British Gas Homecare
Brilliant.
We had water coming through the ceiling last saturday - they came out within a hour or so. Made our house safe and today came and fitted a new water tank and we also have the electric cover which we also need due to some dodgy electrics.
This cover has been a godsend to us.
They are professional, tidy and reliable.
5* once again!:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0 -

You have not been using their service for very long. ONly a few call outs. alison6692
I have been using them for years and I am now completely cheesed off with their failing to turn up when they say and not doing the thing that I called them out to do. Yes there are times when they provide excellent service and the fixes they do are excellent. But if you want to make an appointment and always wonder if they will turn up. OR when the person at the desk says "Yes I will book a service while they fix your boiler problem" and only later to find out that this was not happening .. then like me and many others you will not be singing their praises.
I have the complete cover and I am going to move to another company for another complete cover. At the moment my old boiler has unlimted parts, labour and call out with BG and I just need to find another company that will provide this cover. Once I upgrade my boiler then I will definately change over to someone else.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson
