Just remember, There won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time, the greatest gift theyll get this year is life. All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0

Hi luxor4t
Homeserve has asked us to post on its behalf. Just a note, though, that MSE can't endorse anything a company says via the forum.

How are you getting on? Hope you have got your boiler sorted out by now and are starting to warm up.
We also had to move out and stay with relatives thanks to homeserve not being able to keep to what they say.
I too got that message above from Andrea but when you contact them all they can say that it is due to the 'adverse weather conditions' and 'circumstances beyond their control'... not much help when you and your family are freezing and getting ill as a result of no heating.Registered Childminder and mum of three.
Aiming to have money in our saving account by the end of the year and be in control of our debts.0 -
Day 7
Boiler still not fixed, so life is rather nomadic at the moment.
Fingers crossed the contractors will be with us tomorrow morning (ie day 8) - I hope so, the whole house feels damp, the rain has been very heavy here.
Day 8
Contractor, promised for 8am arrived mid-morning, but - the boiler is working and the house is warming up at last.
Now, Homeserve ...I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Day 9
Silly, me I imagined that they would actually fix the boiler - but I suppose I'm just too naive!
Although we do have heat, we cannot programme the timer and we have a straight forward choice:
ON + hot water or OFF - hot water
Was it too much to expect that they would actually do the job in 3 visits? (see post 6)
Another phone call to Homeserve and probably another lengthy wait before we finally get the boiler working the way it did!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
UPDATE:
it took another two visits before the boiler was working correctly and not leaking water everywhere. DH then asked for the £30 payment clearly stated in the contract we took out as they had failed to complete the task within the stated time - despite us sending screen shot and photocopied documents, this was refused.
We did not renew the contract, despite a raft of sales phone calls, and put Homeserve into "never again" category.
October 2012 Homeserve rang DH and told him that a "review" of our case had been made, a few weeks later we were sent a cheque for £130 :shocked:I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
