in Credit cards
hi folks hope someone can help,
perhaps there are other people in this situation that would appreciate answers and ideas as well as me.
I am not employed, and am not officially self employed. I have a regular income stream, (all legal!) nothing dodgy.
But if i fill out a form for a a 0% credit card i will be refused because i will put 'unemployed'. If i put self employed thats not officially true, i dont have a company name or anything.
how on earth am i going to get a 0% credit card, will it be a big deal if i just perhaps make up a company name? and say im self employed?
You folks are my last chance as im running out of ideas! :-)

If your earning then you should declare yourself as self employed with the inland revenue, and hence use the self employed status on your 0% card apps0

Put self employed.
The card companies don't check, and to be frank, they don't really care either. The employed/self employed type questions are only there because they fit most people and give an indication of stability of income, which is what the card co's want to know about.
If you fill in the form and just adapt it to your own situation whilst giving a more or less honest and accurate picture of your financial circumstances, then no one's going to have a fit.
I *am* self employed, and when I fill out app forms I put down my same home address and phone numbers as my "work" contact details. They know that's how it is for lots of self employed.0 -
Putting unemployed implies that you're out of work because you can't get a job. If you're out of work through choice but have plenty of income from investments then put retired. If you work for your income but don't have a formal job then put self employed.0

That's what I've done in recent times and have notched up 5/6 credit cards without any problem.0 -
I agree with above. The self-employed trick should do it.
You're not into casinos by any chance?0
