  • I took in a stray cat whilst we tried to finds her owner. No one owned up to owning her and she turned out to be pregnant! I had her for over 21 years and she died the day before my Grandson's Christening; I could see my daughter going around everyone telling them not to ask about the cat!!!

our cats are 14 in april and both going strong! one only has three legs from being run over a few years back but definitely doesnt stop him. the other is a total home cat who likes to stay in and sleep all day with occasional food breaks! hope they can live as long as some of your cats have

We had a cat when we were children that lived until it was 26! An old ginger moggie that spent all day sleeping on the top of the heater. We know it was 26 because it was a bit younger than my brother!
  • Well my pensioner is 18+ or there abouts.

Actually reading the ages of peoples' cats gives me hope that I'll have her around for a few good years yet.

Other than diabetes (she's in remission), she hasn't really suffered ill health. Also the older she gets, the more vocal she becomes which is really nice. As she has gotten older, she has decided that she likes a wide range of foods & has taken to helping herself from my plate when I'm eating. She particularly likes pesto pizzas & fish shop fish (inc batter).

Has anyone else's pensioner developed odd habits over the years?

  • My kitty has now got athritis & seems to be having some teeth problems.

I give her Metacam for pain relief, but it's looking now like I'm going to have to take her to the vets with a view to maybe having some teeth removed. I'm seriously dreading it, but I know it's gonna have to be done :(

My old boy is 19 and 5 months and sleeps a lot. He's always been deaf as he's white but yes as he's got older he has become more vocal. He has got mild kidney dysfunction and now has tablets. Luckily he easily takes them! He used to go out in the garden and sit on the fence and I used to get him in at night time by shining a torch on the fence!! He doesn't go out much now and the fence is falling down! He may well live on for sometime!! Here's hoping!
