how long should I keep my mobile phone bills for?
Options
Hello everybody,
I know my question sounds stupid but I am worried to throw away things that I might need later on. I have kept all my mobile phone bill of the last 5 years and i'm wondering if it's really necessary. They can't don't have the same "value" as utility bills... I've been with the same provider ever since.
Thanks for your help.

Think I would just keep them for a 12 month really, like you say, it isnt really necessary. If your bothered you could scan them and put them onto a disc, but i really think, if there has never been a problem then just shred them.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hi Sophie43
I am in the same position as you. I have my orange bills from the last 5 years. However, two weeks ago I discarded all bills bar the last 5 months worth. As I had re-newed my contract with Orange in October I have only kept all correspondance regarding the new upgrade and all following bills from thereon.
I think this is reasonable as I have no issues pending and everything up to date.
Depending on your circumstance If you have changed mobile carriers in the past then I would be inclined to keep the last bill from each of the carriers as proof as there have been instances where disputes have emerged several months/years down the line.
Hope this helps."I think I spent 72.75% of my life last year in the office. I need a new job!!"0 -
If you have utilitys bills for id checks etc and dont actually check your orange bill then id say bin them after you have viewed them or just register for online billing to save paper.0

Not sure why anyone would care - unless they relate to business use and you charge against income - then you should keep them for 6 years.0

I would say keep them for the life time of the contract then either scan if your fussed or shred 'em...0

Can you not sign up to online paperless billing? That way they are stored online for the life of the contract (which is how long they should be kept).0
