iPhone App to Track Spending

Does anyone know of a good iPhone App where you can input your spending to keep a track & scare you into spending less as you see it build up?

Thanks

I've been trialling Xpense Lite which I've found quite good. The lite version only lets you make a certain amount of entries before you have to upgrade to the full version. But the cost is minimal.

I've been using Day Bank, its free for the lite version, but again only allows a few transactions, again it was only a nominal fee to upgrade to the full version and I love it.

  • I am sure it is out there somewhere, but I find it amazing that people want to have an application which helps them save money downloaded onto what is a hugely expensive mobile phone, usually on a long contract with a high monthly charge! There is already a saving of circa £25-£45 a month by not having one of these silly devices and instead having a PAYG basic phone.

A very valid point, but there is no reason to assume that OP's mobile is not part of a work contract/gift/etc.

Apart from the OP,other users could be using it on the iPod touch which isn't costing them anything a month..

  • I agree of course but then an Ipod touch is getting on for £200 to buy and is very much a luxury item (for example I have never had an ipod of any sort) one would buy if you had plenty of spare cash.

Or perhaps, like in my case, they had days pre-LBM when I thought I was saving for my long wanted iPhone. (Or pre-LBM when they just really wanted one and that was the done thing) I "saved" for months to have it, not realising that I was neglecting debts in the meantime. I am lucky that my lightbulb moment has come earlier rather than later. But anyway,

Do I think it was a bit stupid now? Totally! Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! That phone saves me both time and money all the time now and as silly as it sounds, it has made me happy at times. I'll probably make other stupid purchases (in some peoples eyes) many more times in my life but I don't regret this one.

We're not here to judge, only learn from each other and support each other.

The only person's situation you can ever completely know is your own.
Can we pretend that aeroplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars, cause I could really use a wish right now...
  • Hi KT -certainly not judging people with iphones, peoples spending decisions are entirely their own and not for anyone to judge. My point was a money saving point which is the purpose of this board i.e. you will save more money getting rid of the iphone and get a cheap phone on PAYG, rather than have an iphone with a money saving application loaded onto it.
