ICICI or IceSave for monthly interest?

Time will tell. You are correct with that one.

On 15th November, Icesave say they will reveal all.0 -
Would this include their own website which states that they will pay .25% more than base rate, meaning that they'll have to go above 5.2% anyway?DocProc wrote:Anything out there anywhere on the internet that talks about Icesave raising its interest rates to an amount above the currently advertised 5.2% is just pure speculation.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Thanks for reminding me of their Guarantee.
They do have to go up to 5.25% Gross pa/AER so as to comply with their own Guarantee of always being 0.25% Gross pa/AER above UK Base Rate with their savings rate.
So I guess to be more accurate, I should have said:
Until Icesave make an official announcement themselves, anything out there anywhere on the Internet that talks about Icesave raising its interest rates to an amount of 5.45% pa Gross/AER, above the currently advertised 5.2% pa Gross/AER, is just pure speculation.0 -

Very

Actually, I was convinced before. Nevertheless, the company had made no official announcement on it and I found it strange that others outside Icesave could be stating what they had done before the company's official announcement on it.
A leak or wot?
Anyhow, thanks for the link. I do appreciate it. I would have been waiting for the announcement until tomorrow, since today is only the 13th November and so it is one day early, according to what I was told.
On another topic, but similarly and which just goes to further illustrate how you almost need to get a second confirmation on things (this reminds me of the Watergate Scandal and the two reporters)...
A CS rep on the phone at ING Direct told me something very recently and similarly to the effect that, "Following the Bank of England Base Rate rise to 5.0%, ING would make an official announcement on the 24th November and then any interest rate rise in their Internet savings accounts, if any, would kick in one month after that."
After a bit of discussion and debate, he agreed he did not really know this would actually be the case and so agreed to change his comment to something along the lines of, "ING will be considering the implications of the B of E rate rise and issuing an announcement in the near future."
The CS lady rep' at Icesave, whom I spoke to, had been better instructed and was able to quite assertively advise me that, "An official announcement would be forthcoming on the 14th November. Until then anything concerning an Icesave savings acount rate rise is entirely speculation."0 -
Icesave.
are there any non tax payers out there with an account? was the R85 process easy enough, in that they send one out with no problems?
i have only ever really dealt with well known "high street" names before, so just wanted a heads up.
thank you.0 -

Hi
Yep, they send an R85 with a reply envelope and that's it.
You ask for gross interest as part of the application process, and according to an email I got from them they actually set it up straightaway, then send you the form for their files.0 -
I've had no problems with ICICI. Transfers in/out have always been very quick.
I'm just in the process of transfering back to ICICI from A&L Direct Saver as A&L have been very vague as to whether they'll be raising their rate. Plus their restrictions on min balance and no interest in withdrawl months really suck.0 -
I opened an account with ICICI a few months ago with just a small sum of money with the idea of increasing this after seeing how they performed.
WHAT A BUNCH, this week I attempted to invest more but they have disabled my password without telling me.
When I phone I am just placed in a queue and simply get cut off without being answered after a few minutes.
Email are not responded to, just ignored.
I thank my lucky stars I only have a small investment with these people.
I WOULD AVOID, FIND ANOTHER BANK.
MARTIN - You should be flagging up all the problems people seem to be having with ICICI.0 -
A bit late to the Icesave party but received my R85 today; one problem: where do I find my Icesave branch, sort code and account number. The documentation that came with it was pretty useless and I've had no luck from email customer support.0
