Mobility Scooter breakdown and recovery

Hi all,

I'm looking for breakdown and recovery cover which, obviously really, needs to be good and at a reasonable price.

I don't necessarily need full UK cover since I hardly travel anywhere these days and would be more likely to budget for taxis when a long way from home rather than trying to take my scooter on public transport.

Sunny Suffolk is where I'm based, so does anyone have have any recommendations to make please? Or comments on companies to avoid?

BTW - in case it makes any difference my scooter is a third hand Invamed Delux and, since I have no idea of its service history, is booked in for a full check up and service.

TYIA :)

When i was 16 and had my first motorbike i had Rac breakdown cover, when i did call for help it wasn't the Rac that turned up but a guy with a transit from a local bike shop, he never attempted to fix my bike just pushed it into the van and asked did i want to go home or back to his shop, if i went the shop it was then going to be a paid job to do the repair.
I'd imagine you'd get a similar sort of service, it's easier for them to just taxi you home and get a paid job back at their premises than fix it for free at the roadside.

Not sure if you want insurance as well but these do mobility scooter insurance & breakdown etc, not sure if they do breakdown on their own but might be worth asking. I've used all of them but have never had to call them out so can't comment on how good they are but they have all been very helpful on the phone.

Thanks. Simple breakdown repair would be nice, but in truth recovery to home would be fine because I can manage simple repairs myself and for anything else I have a very good local guy.

So... back to the research... I'll check out the links thank you :)
