Sam - well done on grabbing the screenshot of her name on the website by the hamper win. To my mind, THAT is more important than the email she got, as it shows that *SHE* was the winner of the hamper (as opposed to say, 50 people receiving a "You've won" email, but only one person's name being on the website).

I'd, for now, stick with contact with the Jelly Belly Beans people - they will want nothing but good publicity and a good name, and the story about your Mum (how happy she was, the grandkids picking their sweets, the screenshot of her name on the website being a big winner, then how upset she was after) should push them to make sure your Mum gets a hamper regardless of the What's On TV people. be sure to send them the screenshot, too - they might not openly ask for it from you (as they won't want to sound like they are suggesting you are lying and wanting proof), but if you sent it to them anyway it might give them something they can wallop the What's On TV people even harder with.

This must be the 3rd or 4th incident of this recently - I can't understand it. Does somebody at the company suddenly decide THEY want the prize and so scrap off the automated-winner as an "admin mistake" to claim it themselves, or are there really that many incompetent people out there?

Keep us posted, and don't bother with the What's On TV people - clearly, from your poorly written and blunt replies you received back from them, that's a dead-end-street.

I am sure the Jelly Belly Bean people will sort your Mum out with a hamper :)
  • Reading your post I felt so disappointed for your Mum and just hope that are able to sort it out for her. I agree that the screenshot showing your Mum as the winner is the key element in getting the correct result and the prize. Good Luck.
Thanks to all who post comps!
  • Thanks everyone, your kind words and support really pushed us on to keep trying to get her the prize she'd been offered, without you all I think we'd have felt a bit cheeky and just given up.
