  • Not a lot tends to happen over a w/end ! I'm afraid . Time is not so much of the essence in Africa.

    Did you get a name?

Keep sending ees marked Urgent .

    Try phoning again.

Some of the agents that you book the flights through will also help with safaris etc. Give Trailfinders a call to see what they can offer.

I am afraid that I am in Australia at the moment visiting other children, so can't do a lot more to help.

I should also have mentioned that The Aberdare Country Club and Ark make a pleasant safari. Road not too bad, and fun to get up in the night at The Ark when the bell rings to signify game at the waterhole.

    Good Luck.

thx for your replies. I got the following plan from kenya air for £425/person on BB basis. I would appreciate if you can look at it and let me know if this is worth it.

    Day01

You will be picked from the airport by our company’s representative and transferred to hotel. You will be briefed about the itinerary.

    Day 02

Depart Nairobi in the morning by road to Aberdare National Park arriving at the Hotel, Nyeri at midday. After lunch at the Outspan Hotel transfer with lodge vehicle to Treetops. Located just inside the gates of the park, Treetops overlooks waterholes and a saltlick. The lodge rises straight and stark on stilts and is solely dedicated to game viewing. The possibility of seeing wild animals close has created the Treetops tradition. The Aberdare National Park is part of the Aberdare Mountain Range, a fascinating region of Kenya. Mountain rages and peaks soar to arround 14,000 feet and are home to leopards, lion, colobus monkey, bongo, red duiker, suni, birds and Rhino. Dinner and overnight at Treetops Lodge

    Day 03

Full day in the Mara with morning and afternoon game drives across the plains and close encounter with elephants, lion, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, African birds, hippo, crocodile, vultures, African birds of prey, wildebeest, Hyena. Fullboard at Siana Springs Tented Camp. Early morning game drive returning for breakfast at the camp. After breakfast, check-out from the camp and depart by road back to Nairobi. Lunch will be enroute.

    Day04

Transferred to the airport for flight.

Price BB only Twin Sharing Basis.

    Adult £425/person

    Child £400/person

All meals will be charged extra.

Lunch US$ 75 Dinner US$65 per Adult person

Make sure you have excellant medical cover, the roads are not good and they have a apalling driving record in Kenya. On the way to Aberdare after a particulay steep bend down to a bridge (you will see all the lorries in the riverthat didn't make the bend) and up the other side there is a hill and a sign on the left highligting the two car accident where 67 people died!!! Malaria is everywhere jabs and tablets are next to useless but take them anyway.Try and obtain disinfectant and religiously dunk your hands in it after using toilets.
I wouldn't drink or clean your teeth in any of the water including tap water unless you want to be ill,use liquids that have gone through a production process ie bottled Fanta.Or take your own "Puritabs" they will purifiy any water so it is safe to drink you can get them from Millets.
The trip you have highlighted seems okay the Aberdare park and Treetops are good to excellant, the itinerary doesn't explain how you get from Aberdare to Mara for the next day? This is a long way be prepared for a small van with no air con get the open window seat for the kids and big hats are the order of the day.
Oh yeah do not eat the skin off any fruit! you do not wanna know !
MacDonalds in Nairobi is terrible so don't let the kids get their hopes up for a good meal the burgers were made from fish! you never know it may have had new management since I was there.
    Good luck and enjoy
