Which phone ?

I am having trouble deciding on a new phone. I have always had Nokia (currently got the 6230i) but thought I might try Sony Ericson - but cant decide which... K610i, K750i, K800i or W850i...just want it as a phone with camera - not fussed on the music side...needs to be good for texting as thats wht I do most of... any suggestions or comments would be very gratefully recieved. :D

Just ordered a W850i from T-mobile - £15 per month on they flext tariff

Phone Free on an 18month contract

    Equivalent yearly cost £180
    Equivalent contract cost £270

This fits my needs (like a glove)

But they also have the K800i which is a very simlar phone but has a fantastic 3.2mp camera (this allows you to print out in Photograph quality at an A4 size - this is more than most need - remember the higher the Mp does not mean increased quality - just means you can print out on a bigger piece of paper)

Have a look but it's reviewed as a good phone, excellent when considering the size of camera.

    Hope you find this useful

  • Thanks OP for posting this, just about to post the same. I have the office collection to buy a phone for someone who is retiring. We thought a phone with a good camera (he's a fisherman so can show us the pics of the 'biggest fish ever' Lol) and he also uses texts. He has an O2 sim already on PAYG so we want him to keep that. Ideas anyone?

NB Price unimportant but bargains preferred!

Out of the sony ericsson phones mentioned the K800i is top of the range and has the best camera of the lot by far but also all the usual things like music player etc.

Nokia N73 also seems to have an excellent camera.
  • REDHEAD1,
A friend has the K800i and is very impressed with it, having upgraded from the K750i. They do a lot of texting and find it easy to navigate.
...and then the window licker said to me...

Just check out the keyboard size on all of the phones mentioned - none of them are fat or infirm finger friendly IMHO.

if thats^ an issue look at the w810i
good camera (not the best) but better than a non sony ericsson
but unlike the others it has spaces around the buttons - would be most comfortable and least likely to press other buttons

  • I always have Nokias myself but when I was due my upgrade from my 6230i this year my OH (who reads up on all these things - he's a phone and PC nerd!) advised me either to go for a Nokia N73, or the Sony Erikson K800i. I chose the K800i as I liked the look of it better.
I was so impressed with the phone that even after I lost it on holiday after only having it 3 weeks I insisted on replacing it with another K800i and I refused to take anything that might be slightly less "inferior" if thats the right word.
I wasnt as upset about losing the phone but more for the pics that were on it that we had taken the night I lost it. They were fantastic (flash for dark places aswell), most were better than I can actually take on my 5mp Kodak camera!
