Hi,
I suppose I am now a single mummy with a 1, 3 and 4 year old. I have no idea what to do with regards to help/benefits/rent.
I am in a privtely rented house and have wholely relied on my husbands wages to survive and now thats gone I'm panicing!
Will I lose the house? What am I entitled to?
Sorry if I'm waffling I'm sat here crying!
Thank you for your help in advance.

You will also need to inform CTC of your change in income.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Is the Child Benefit paid to you?
If you are in private rented your claim Local Housing Allowance - speak to the Council but do check whether your property is within the LHA limit.
Is this a joint tenancy? If so, when does the fixed period end?
Male sure that you clim the single person CT allowance as well.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Op you need to contact the child support agency.
You also need to apply for Income support from the Jobcentre plus.
Apply for Local housing allowance via your local council.
Apply for council tax benefit via your local council.
Inform tax credit office that you wish to close down your joint claim and apply for child tax credits as a single parent.
Assuming of course you get the child benefit already.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0
