MOT faults Seat frame not secure?

So what's the update, which seat is it and what is the problem with it?0

Yep just got my car back today. Cost me 329 pounds in the end. 50 pound fix for a supposed 885 pound job.
Yesterday, I collected the car back from Stoneacre. It was ~28 pounds for MOT, ~120 pounds servicing plus ~81 pounds for small repairs. Stoneacre did the insurance covered items such as road spring. This was with a MOT failed note.
The car was sent to a local garage where the mechanic took a look and said he'd take the seats out, strip it down, reassemble and install. Guess what... fixed... That was 50 pounds. I decided to redo the MOT with this garage as well, so that's another 50 pounds. All passed, no issues.
I didn't want Stoneacre to retest the car again even if that was going to be free. Reasons were they still want a missing reflector replaced on my car and its at least tomorrow before I get my car back if I used Stoneacre. I've had enough of Stoneacre messing me about. Grr0 -
Is there any route for drivers to complain about these dealerships using such dishonest methods to try to rip us off? In my case, I think Stoneacre Goole was dishonest to offer only the replacement option. Well they added a load of advisories to the pot costing another 800 - 1000 pounds to fix. My replacement MOT garage said don't bother. It looks like they were trying to drive me down the route of part-exing the car and buying a car off them.
I am glad I didn't do it in the end. But their practice is dishonest (possibly unscrupulous?) and surely there should be someone to complain to about them. Is it Office of Fair Trading or something?
Edit: On another hand, I don't think I have enough paperwork to prove their dishonest behaviour. Probably when their customer service people ring up, I'm going to give them a right telling off and the badmouthing I'll be doing on forums.0 -
Not really, you either accept the price, or you don't.0

The main items that failed is something to do with the seat frame not being secure (exact terminology I am not sure of until I get the report). That and another related item is costing £428+£233 and comes up to £792 including VAT.
Am I being ripped off here? I got the job being done at Stoneacre Goole.
Cheers.:eek:Depends what it failed on.
If it fails due to emissions for example - it's still safe for use on the road, whereas that is not so with 4 bald tyres...

i personaly would not have anything to do with with Stoneacre .... we have one down the rd from where i work in Grimsby, and the 'mechanics' use the ind estate to 'road test' the customers cars ... when i say 'test' i mean drive em like they stole em ..........˙ʇuıɹdllɐɯs ǝɥʇ pɐǝɹ sʎɐʍlɐ
