Hi,
I wonder if anyone else that booked through an online agent like 'lowcost' or 'bookable' have had a refund.........
Check out my posts on Goldtrail thread. [just click on my profile]
I've just had my money back in full and ABTA have fined Bookable Holidays for breaching the Code of Conduct.:beer:0 -
Thank you Dance Warrior......so there is hope! Your post has made me feel a lot more optimistic about getting our refund.
Complaint letter to ABTA here I come!

Hi all new to the site. I saw this thread after googling "Goldtrail refunds" and then a load of expletives.
I booked flights through Travel Patrol for a Goldtrail flight last year and a week later they went bust. Have since had a paper trail between myself and Travel Patrol, ABTA and Huntswood which could have saved enough trees to carpet Newcastle had they returned my money before now.
Despite many promises I am still waiting and mega frustrated.

I booked kiss flights and hotel through holiday discount centre. I sent in an atol form for the deposit of £375 in November and I'm still awaiting a reply. HDC said in January I would be receiving a letter "any day now". Is there any way of chasing this up in a productive manner?"Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

I booked a holiday for August 2010 with LowCost Holidays, they had used Kiss for the flights and subsequently the whole package had to be cancelled.
I have emailed numerous times but am still waiting for my refund. I was initially promised before Xmas, then told that due to a massive backlog of claims with the CAA it would be a little longer.
I was then promised a "resolution" by Feb 25th, needless to say this date has passed without so much as an email from them.
I have a number of email address' for LowCost if anyone would like to get in touch with them regarding claims.0 -
I booked our holiday through beatthebrochure.com which is part of Como Street Travel limited. I have been continuously on the CAA's case and the Travel agent, and still waiting! Luckily we were still able to go on our holiday from a bail out from my mother
But still need that refund so i can at least pay her back for the new flights.
The CAA have told me that they have all the information from myself regarding the refund but only half of the evidence from the travel agent.
The important piece of info is a "Full remittance" (a breakdown of payments and customer bookings including deposits from the travel agent to the operator kiss flights) So they can compare & match bank statements etc.. Any Travel agent on this thread please tell if it is really that difficult to produce this document?
The CAA know they have paid the airline in full and they should be able to produce that "middle man document".
I am considering taking further action on Como Street Travel as they clearly can not do a simple job. CAA have said it takes a matter of days for a refund once they produce this document. Anyone else delt with Como Street? or have similar story?0 -
We had a holiday booked through Onthebeach in August 2010 which was canceled when Kiss nosedived. We've just got the flight refund from CAA, but have to start from scratch to claim for accommodation. Onthebeach have no working customer service phone lines or admin links at the moment, so we can't call or email them. A supervisor from the sales team said they would call back today but it hasn't happened yet. Has Kiss got a direct claim site ? (again OTB used to have a link but it's broken - like everything else).0

To "Tuppenceworth", Kiss have no dealings with the accommodation when you book your holiday (unless u know something i dont). My travel agent told me at the time that the hotel booking still stood as it was only the airline kiss that went down. If i didn't find new flights they could rearrange a new holiday for me or cancel entirely and get a refund, minus an admin charge.
If you didnt ask your travel agent to cancel the accommodation etc at the time and ask for a refund, as far as the Hotel you were due to stay in knows - you just didnt turn up but the room was paid for. If this is the case you won't see a penny! If you did cancel, the travel agent should have refunded you minus admin fee within 10 working days! i only know this as i have had to cancel a holiday in the past and this was the procedure.0 -
Some more info for you "Tuppenceworth" that you may find helpful. I just saw your travel agent onthebeach is ABTA protected - did a little googling and came up with this info:
"Under the current PTD rules if the consumer books a holiday through a travel agent and there is a problem like flights are cancelled or the description did not live up to the accommodation, than they can claim through ABTA for compensation. However, if you book direct with an airline or hotel for accommodation an something goes wrong or it is not up to scratch you are not protected, as you have dealt directly with companies.
Hope this helps.0
