The crux of this thread is whether or not local councils throughout Britain pay this fixmystreet website any attention.
Are they more effective at getting a result than any householder reporting a pothole to their roads and transport department themselves? Or could most reports from this website simply be written off as spam or disregarded by the council?0 -
Well I don't know whether they do or not
But its far easy to do it this way and you can show exactly where on a map. Do you have any reason to suggest it doesn't make them do it any more than usually methods?
If yes, then fine waste of time doing it but it may also just be local policy, one thing is no worse than doing nothing moaning in your vehicle or another pothole?clever_username wrote: »That is another issue entirely however.

You on the other hand are suggesting that people use it to report issues but by your own admission have no idea if councils take any notice of it or not.
I'm merely pointing out that recommending/encouraging the use of a particular service with no experience of whether it gets results or not doesn't seem very well thought out.0 -
Yes I have no idea whether it works or not how can I.
You dont have to use it, its still better than not and just like 95% of drivers thinking not to complain because they may think someone else will, when we all know potholes are there for months on end.
If there is a small chance then so be it. I rather do something constructive than nothing at allclever_username wrote: »I have no reason to suggest it does or doesn't since I've never had any experience with them. But then I'm not the one encouraging people to use the site.

the website says it contacts the council once the report is filed. ive just reported a cluster of potholes(herd of potholes..? tribe of potholes..? pack of potholes..? pride of potholes..?) i cannot avoid in leaving the estate where i live, we'll see if it gets sorted...0
