I've just been reading this thread with interest in case it was something I could squish into my free time whilst I'm not consulting or freelancing to make those hours productive. I have to say, I'm now completely repelled by the idea.
Lot's of unpaid reading, quizzes, tests then blips of productive time that you are paid for. Sitting there at your computer, having apportioned your time to work, and no work being available. And then, a final kick in the stomach - will you even get paid for the hours you have managed to rack up, or like someone above, will they insist you wipe over a day's wage off with no explanation.
Sounds like a lot of work for no return to be honest - I do think, having read about 6 pages to the end, that this company are taking the proverbial and people need the money so go along with it.
ANyway, off my soapbox now!
For most of the reasons above I told them to "shove it" this week! So there should be at least one vacancy coming up! :rotfl: Don't get me wrong I've never had any major issues as such - it's just not flexible enough as a second job when you have limited hours available to do it with limited brain power after 12 hours of proper work! It's not something that you can do on "auto-pilot" all of the time as they throw so many new types of task into the mix which involves further reading and learning.0 -
There'll be another vacancy coming up when I resign too, largely for the same reasons - I just want to make sure that I'm paid first!
Like so many of us, I can only give 10 hours per week, on specific days at specific times. I don't have extra time to spend on all the unpaid reading, learning, quizzes, webinars, resolving, more exams etc. I can't make up time later in the week if there aren't tasks available when I am free to work. I wouldn't have applied if I'd known that I would have to find so much more than 10 hours time to do 10 hours paid work!
I am furious that my timesheet has been rejected and that I don't know whether I'm getting paid for all the work I've done. It seems a very cheap trick to tell a newbie that they need to comment on every task for 3 weeks, then penalise them for doing just that. Maybe this was a mistake - but over a week later, they still haven't corrected it, nor have they replied to any of my emails. In fact, they have ignored most of the emails I've ever sent them!
I've also had an issue with the type of some of the tasks. It's difficult to say too much because of the NDA, but I'd opted out of doing certain tasks, the ones which you are allowed to release if you get them. This hasn't stopped them coming, and you can't always tell until you've actually opened it. I'm not talking just about things you would flag, but the stuff which you have to report! This is our family computer which my children use, and they are sometimes in the room when I've been working. I don't want this stuff on my computer, so can't work from home doing a job which means I have to look at it.0 -
I have been paid for the work I did in March and I'm going to wait for my April pay before resigning as a month of not answering my emails is simply ridiculous. I can't believe how badly structured this programme is!0

i too have a full time job (suddenly got it the 1st week i started this!) and apart from an hour each day at the weekends, its hard to fit it in. This weekend was okay as i had a load of type 5s in a row so coud do a solid hour at one thing. Rather than 5 mins at this and 5 at that, with loads of new types appearing all the time and trying to understand them.
So hopefully that will make me quick at doing them as you get into the grove. But with around 3 hours max work a week done, i reckon i will be gone soon. may as well limp on until they get shot. Its easy enough to do when watching Glee and actually its interesting!0 -

I agree with you here; I can be sat there all saturday afternoon, 4 or 5 hours, and then when I add up the time to bill at the end of the day its like half or two thirds of that or something, mainly because of the time switching between tasks, starting and stopping etc. Thats def a downside. When I first started I seemed to be able to get hours of the same task types and then it wasnt a problem but more recently its been much more bitty. However, luckily, although Ive to fit this in around a full time job during the day, I dont have any other commitments in the evenings or weekends - kids for example - so can throw the time at it to get the hours in. Mind you, I feel like Ive no life at the moment, Im just always sat in front of the computer, but figure its only for 11 months so will just grin and bear it til then !! I still feel its better than most of the other part time work options out there that I could look at, like bar/shop work etc, in terms of pay and being able to work from the comfort of my own home
Ive not had any problems with the types of tasks you're getting that you dont want / opted out of, the odd page to flag but nothing major. Maybe they never recorded you opting out properly ? I can understand that being a problem, esp. with kids around.

Anyone heard ANYTHING about the rejected timesheets yet? No replies to emails in over a week, worried I am not going to get paid next month now.0
-
No, I've not heard anything either. I've emailed yet again, even though I know they won't bother replying. I've tried various email addresses, including the named person who sent me the 90% one (a lady who shares a surname with a famous footballer) - that one bounced back immediately as 'couldn't be found'! I don't know who else to contact. It's very worrying indeed.0
-
Nothing here either. Was originally just annoyed about the possibility of not getting paid for the amount of work I did. Now I am concerned about not getting paid atall!0
