Picked one of these up last night from Burnley store for £2.37. Erected it and transferred hammy last night. This morning the two platforms had come undone off the bars. Poor hammy!
Might be going on Ebay....

no way would i pay £100 for the savic one. we got ours from pets at home for £50 a couple of years back. Its probably about 3-4 times as big.0 -
I haven't had Hamsters for a while but when I did I built them a cage paradise using a cheap basic cage like in the original post.
I took 3 decent sized storage boxes and the commercial cage. I replaced the plastic lids with mesh, stacked 2 boxes on-top of each other, the commercial cage on-top of the other and placed them side by side to make a block of 4 and made holes and connected with rotastak tubes. With a cheap commercial cage I'm guessing this probably cost me £20-25 max
I did have the rotastak cages but even with a huge hamster mansion set up it never seemed big enough for a Syrian0 -

The Savic Hamster Heaven a great cage (I have one) - it is very big (80cm width) and has plenty of room for my syrian hamster to run around in.
The RSPCA recommend a cage size of at least 75 x 40 x 40cm. Please bear this in mind when you are buying your cages.0 -
what kind of fish tank was it please and has anyone seen any in ipswich?
an item number/barcode would be brill so i could ring the store saving me a trip if not got one.
Thanks0 -
Silent Spinners are the best choice. But it is important to create a a natural hamster environment.
So be careful in case of choosing rotastak.0 -

LOL, I put mine on eBay on Sunday because our hammy went to heaven a while back, I found it in the cupboard while having a clearout. For the life of me I wondered why it has a stupid amount of watchers for what it is!! Your post will be why then. :T
ETA to say that I now realise that this thread was from Jan and not Feb. I guess the poster above works for Silent Spinner and has spammed the thread and this is how I found it.0
